Simple, u pay for yours while they pay for theirs.

Consider it luck that you walk away not paying for their damage as they can easily prove that u not practice defensive driving.

Ok I just dig out some information regarding this case.

I had called BCA and enquire about this case. Apparently, the Autobacs building (10 Ubi view) is a privately owned building.

In the Building and Maintenance Strata management act, it is the owner's responsibility to ensure their building is properly maintained and safe for users. However, this act cannot apply to this case as the Autobacs building is not strata title registered under BCA.

Only way is to pursue lawyers to fight this case which is what I am trying to avoid because of the cost.

That what I do not like about all the authorities. they push here and there. Did you ask them which authority is responsible for private buildings safety?

At many times, people cannot get hold of any authority responsible and then give up.

all bros, why do you all always recommend people to use lawyers to sue just for a minor damage (2k).

By getting a reaonable good lawyer the retainer fees is already 4-5k. is it worth all the trouble.

if its our mistake , just apologise and pay. if car park is wet , don not drive (preferably) more that 15km/hr

[thumbsup]

i have driven there on very rainy days on a few occassions...

i had no such problems. using normal tires.

i think you were either speeding, sleeping or super bad driving skills

i used to patronise this place quite often. Think the floor is those epoxy coated kind and puddles of water can be quite common since it is water proof. But i have never skid there before. maybe i always drive very slow when inside the premise. I'm not saying TS is speeding but i always see people zooming from hump to hump at the carpark. Don't understand why they want to do that.

Thanks for the headsup as i might be dropping by there tomorrow.

I have driven there a few times when it's wet also no problem. Add to the fact that I am using DNA db which many people say got no grip.

Perhaps you were going a bit fast?

Just find out from Autobacs what is the cost first. Sometimes the lawyer fees will cost much more than the repair.

Twincharged

Also have no problem with that carpark. Drove there before when the floor was very wet. Drive about 20km/h and still can stop effectively and no loss of grip.

Litigation cost is high and you may not succeed in suing. Try to compromise with the management of Autobacs. Please file a report with your insurer arising out from this incident. Your insurer will handle

any compensation if you are proven to be at fault for this incident.

It will be uphill task case of suing the management. They can challenge that there is no such cases of skidded incident in the premises during heavy rain. Instead they said that you're in capable of controlling your car whilst manouvering the bend.

Any1 got experience knocking down hdb car park barrier? What is the damage? I recently hit 1 down, saw it was tied by a cable tie, then afternoon when I drop by the place, the barrier is already up and running? So far 3 weeks already haven received any summon letter from them...they got CCTV so I am sure they got my car plate number

get enough guys here to give their experiences on the slippery ground, so it can be used as an unbiased complaint.

claim them instead.

On a slightly related note: just yesterday I was going down the AMK Hub carpark ramp, entering the carpark, when my left front tyre lost traction and the car skidded very close to the wall, but fortunately didn't hit. It was very wet, but was only doing 25 kph down the ramp. Be careful at these places!
