If it's under warranty, send it for repair. If it's out of warranty, almost certain you can throw it away. If the alignment fails, most likely you can't even print anything.

If the printer can still print, high chance it's the moving part / belt that is loose or misaligned. Try running the alignment utility, if you cannot align it no matter what, it's gone case already. You would notice that your text would be crooked.

if im reading you right it keeps printing the test page everytime you turn it on?

if that's the case, that's not an issue of alignment. printer alignment is more commonly being the issue of the printer not being able to print straight lines. you get staggered lines instead. if it's printing out of paper laterally or proximally, you can throw it away - the sensing mechanism of how wide/long your paper is is broken.

you may want to go to your printer utilities program (official one, not microsoft/mac) and do a proper test print and COMPLETE it. when you are done shut your printer down properly and then your computer.

i think it's stuck trying to calibrate and it doesn't remember it has finished calibration.

edit: lastly, as a consolation, you can find colour lasers for around 200 these days. im sure inkjets will be cheaper.

check if your printer date/time got reset every time u turn on, may be the build-in battery that use for backup is flat, so every time when u turn on the printer, it will auto initialize and re-align the printer.

alternatively just leave the printer on lor...it won't consume much power
