KARTer 2nd Gear April 17, 2012 Share April 17, 2012 FTs must be glad they are not part of these. Maybe they shouldnt be, at the rate local men are dying, one day saf may face a shortage of local men in recruitment and therefore have no choice but make FTs serve NS aka exposed to same risk/death? KARTer 2nd Gear April 17, 2012 Share April 17, 2012 I believe hyponatremia can be that serious/dangerous. So lucky I read about it on the eve of getting hyponatremia. So can come back chit-chat, not up lorry. Anyone, can loose minerals through sweating. Each of us got different threshold to such body electrolyte imbalance. hyponatremia affect those with lower tolerance. Such hyponatremia tolerance can change with health/weather/climate conditions. Drinking water when thirsty can also be one cause of it. Drink isotonic drinks instead. A mouthful may save your life. Take care. Otherwise suck a salt tablet better than nothing. Thanks for the tips / info.... will slices of salted-egg do as a last resort?
KARTer 2nd Gear April 17, 2012 Share April 17, 2012 i think the pappies would liken it as raiding our reserves.while each of their millions dollar salaries and 20mths bonus per year tax payers money well spent. dying for one's country is not the same as other so-called 'hardwork'....... Vulcann 6th Gear April 18, 2012 Author Share April 18, 2012 One of the biggest mysteries. Even seemingly fit WO and Officers have uplorry all of the sudden in the past. RIP to the fellow Fit folks does not necessary mean they are healthy though most are. Hidden health conditions may not surface until something triggers it. That is why we are seeing super fit athletes or footballers collapsing on the spot. A case in point is the Italian Livorno midfielder Morosini who suddenly suffered a cardiac arrest and died while playing on the field a few days ago. A case in point is the Italian Livorno midfielder Morosini who suddenly suffered a cardiac arrest and died while playing on the field a few days ago. A TCM physician told me that if one has got d flu bug, its vital for d sick person to rest until fully recovered. But the problem is most think that after a bit of recovery, fit enuff to play sports and all that. But in actual fact, there's still some virus in d blood which may hang around in the heart. It is this that causes such sudden death scenarios. Any doctors can verify this theory?

That is why we are seeing super fit athletes or footballers collapsing on the spot. A case in point is the Italian Livorno midfielder Morosini who suddenly suffered a cardiac arrest and died while playing on the field a few days ago. The problem is that screening programmes are not designed to test highly fit people like we were in our prime. Most cardiac screening is meant to detect abnormalities in a population which complains for eg. chest pain. The validity of such tests cannot be upheld in screening young fit men with no complaints. Doesn't mean u clear that test means u will have no problem. This problem has been explored internally within SAF repeatedly. Like I'm sure that Muamba or morosini would have aced these tests quite easily which were designed for the normal population cos to them its really not strenuous.
