Mazdaowner Moderator April 17, 2012 Share April 17, 2012 Wishful thinking, bro. truly wishful thinking. There just wouldn't be enough space. Maybe MINDEF can consider setting up a memorial wall for sevicemen who passed on during their service like what the Americans did for all fallen soldiers, airmen and sailors or those MIA in the form of The Vietnam Veterans Memorial Wall: That's the least they can do yes? ↡ Advertisement

Good-Carbuyer 1st Gear April 17, 2012 Share April 17, 2012 I only remember last time screening at CMPB bef NS is pull your pants to your knees, turn you head to the right and cough.......while the ah kua medic and MO looked at our ku-ku-jiao.... TCH already mentioned not realistic to take care of NS men with more budget. The MO/medic can not do much more

Good-Carbuyer 1st Gear April 17, 2012 Share April 17, 2012 One of the biggest mysteries. Even seemingly fit WO and Officers have uplorry all of the sudden in the past. RIP to the fellow I believe hyponatremia can be that serious/dangerous. So lucky I read about it on the eve of getting hyponatremia. So can come back chit-chat, not up lorry. Anyone, can loose minerals through sweating. Each of us got different threshold to such body electrolyte imbalance. hyponatremia affect those with lower tolerance. Such hyponatremia tolerance can change with health/weather/climate conditions. Drinking water when thirsty can also be one cause of it. Drink isotonic drinks instead. A mouthful may save your life. Take care. Otherwise suck a salt tablet better than nothing.

Vulcann 6th Gear April 17, 2012 Author Share April 17, 2012 Wishful thinking, bro. truly wishful thinking. There just wouldn't be enough space. Know what you mean bro. Not really good publicity for a peacetime armed forces to have so many names inscribed on the wall... So many have heeded the call for duty, quite a majority by law but some come with pride. Many more will follow. Alas there are a few who make the ultimate sacrifice so the rest can live...in peace. Let us not forget these souls who live and die as our fellow brothers in arms. Littleknown Clutched April 17, 2012 Share April 17, 2012 Given all these sudden deaths, any findings from saf on how to improve medical screening? As much as it would increase spending budget but $500 per son for a more comprehensive screening is not too much to ask for Need a VVIP son to go before they will consider. Babyt 4th Gear April 17, 2012 Share April 17, 2012 VVIP sons wont go cos they will be posted to aircon room.
Kusje Supersonic April 17, 2012 Share April 17, 2012 (edited) One of the biggest mysteries. Even seemingly fit WO and Officers have uplorry all of the sudden in the past. RIP to the fellow This is because people don't know how to take care of themselves. Because of "face" or "pride", they ignore the warning signs from their bodies that tell them to STOP and seek help. Doesn't help when the instructors keep forcing you and tell you to "try your best". Even the WO and officers have to put on a show for their men even when they are ill; they are afraid the men will talk behind their backs if they fall out.
