He was from Singapore Sports School. Should be very fit. Nowadays being fit doesn't guarantee you survival in NS. RIP

Given all these sudden deaths, any findings from saf on how to improve medical screening? As much as it would increase spending budget but $500 per son for a more comprehensive screening is not too much to ask for

Screening is good. but hyponatremia needs budget to by isotonic drinks for sportmen

Medical screening is never full proof.

What I experienced with MINDEF med check-up, I think it is the most comprehensive one, much more than the $500++ one I paid every year for full-body checkup at certain restructured hospitals.

I only remember last time screening at CMPB bef NS is pull your pants to your knees, turn you head to the right and cough.......while the ah kua medic and MO looked at our ku-ku-jiao.... [laugh]

Maybe MINDEF can consider setting up a memorial wall for sevicemen who passed on during their service like what the Americans did for all fallen soldiers, airmen and sailors or those MIA in the form of The Vietnam Veterans Memorial Wall:

i think the pappies would liken it as raiding our reserves.while each of their millions dollar salaries and 20mths bonus per year tax payers money well spent.
