Do you want short term or long rent? What category car?

just a small car will suffice... e.g. honda fit... for me to drive few times in a month... as and when required...

there is at least a car sharing coop there.

indeed, but... its actually more costly on the car-sharing part. am i not right? some insights pls...

Search in sgcarmart.com here let me give you a head start. http://www.sgcarmart.com/directory/listing.php?COM=car%20rental

Click on the "View merchants on map" on the right hand corner.

thanks, a great headstart.

but i am more on the renting on an ad-hoc basis... probably few hours each time, 3-4 times monthly.

Catwoman, indeed it is more costly to join car-sharing coop.

But, imo, from insurance coverage (in case you are involved in an accident), it might be less hassle as compared to rental coy.

Most rental companies require minimum of a one-day (24 hour) hire period.

If you're looking to get a car for a few hours each time, that will be car sharing.

yup, i've done the checks on the car sharing. with the registration fee & membership fee etc.. urgh trying to avoid that.

however, i've come across icarclub. this does not require any membership/registration fee. any helpful insights? has anyone used them before or heard of them before?

Not advertising for or have any relations with the below company: Advance Car Rental at Bukit Batok Crescent, The Elitist.

I have regularly rented from them for the past 3 years.

Their pricing is not the lowest in the market, but their cars are well maintained and properly vacuumed before handing over.

Staff is polite too.

Typical prices for a Vios 1.5A is about $70 per day, and $230 for a weekend.

For long term car leasing, can try MKM. Service not bad also.

I've recently rented a car from AKA Car Rental. They are one of the few that actually rent cars to P-plate holder. Services from the sales team is great and the pricing is quite competitive. The only problem is the cost you have to pay for damage.

If you are involve in accident the excess is 10k whereas if you are involve in a hit and run accident and you are the victim... too bad you will have to pay for the damage. The damage can only be fix by their appointed workshop and you can't go to other workshop.

The cost of the damage is also really high. 2 times higher then the workshop outside mind you.

So think twice before you rent from them

Excess for P plates is always excessive :)

Hi,

I'm looking to rent a car for 6 months. Any recommendations for a affordable car rental co.?

Can try Carway leasing & rental at Paya Ubi industrial park at ubi ave 1. Their rate is affordable fr $1100 per mth, for korea make, no GST charged. Deposit is minimal.I rented honda city fr them at $1300 per mth. But take note they dont allow early termination. And cant pay by credit card. Most other car rental charge $1400 & above & plus additional GST for mass market car rental.
