yo bro,

few question i have in mind,

but would wish to ask you guys in case i miss out any impt considerations.

1) road tax: end on 31st July 2012

(if delivery of new ride in Aug),

can i just renew Road Tax for 3 months instead?

2) Insurance: end on 31st July 2012

(if delivery of new ride in Aug),

can i just renew Ins for 1 month? (already email ins company, waiting for reply)

3) office season - will let HR know new IU number

4) HDB season - will go to HDB branch office to update

What else should i be worried about ar?

Appreciate kind inputs.

thanks.

Roat tax needs to be paid in 6 months or one year upfront.

Insurance also the same needs to be paid full year and upon termination of car insurance policy by email informing them then they will pay you prorated depends on the remaining months left plus some 20% penalty for teminate early.

As for the road tax, no refund if you are selling the car whether to a end user or a dealer unless you de-registered your car then you will get your refund from the LTA.

This is nothing to worry about but you're changing car at this point of time when COE is so..........

Doubt you can pro-rate insurance, as it is a requirement by LTA to have a valid coverage when renewing road tax.

if this is any good infor to u all,

rang up my motor insurance company,

got to pay full for 1 yr,

then renew road tax 6 mths,

then pro-rata by no. of days utilised.

20% early termination charges

eg: yearly premium = $1500

no. of days used = 30

refund = $1500 x (30/365 ) x 80%

Do any bros how carry over of NCD works?

For example, if under old car you are enjoying 20% NCD for the purchased year 1 Jan 2012 to 31 Dec 2012. The new car is arriving at midyear, 1 July 2012, when would the new car switch to the NCD which is the next rung above 20%?

If I were you, I would ask the SE to comfirm the delivery date before Aug. If they want business they will do it. Of cause put it on black and white. If delay ask them for a loan car.

Why so troublesome to but insurance and rebate.
