Reason for not seeing anyone outdoors?

1) Children study the whole day with CCAs following after that.

2) Working adults are working 14 hours a day 7 days week(what my work demands on me)

That is life in here.

I like the way you put it: the hard truth [sweatdrop]

some places is better keep it to yourself, if not the nature parks will be like the shopping malls

Best to cycle there: Mandai Newater Service Reservoir. Close to perfect quiet greenery scenery from this hilltop. Visited this morning (may be 1st visitor today) [laugh]

I'm one of those who like outdoors. In fact, I just came bk from Bishan Park this morning. There are lots of locals there when i reached at 10am, with kids and pets. Wrong to say few locals like outdoors. Kids were flying kites, blading, etc. Even I left at 11+, still got locals running around.

That day, I wanted to let a Korean female visitor to see the other side of SG, so I brought her to GEYLANG! Lol.

I tell u, her eyes were open with shock. She never knew a country which is so well run, systemised, clean and green, modern lifestyle, has a red light district with sleaze..... HA HA.

Of coz i didn't do anything to her...........

My favourite running place is ECP, also very crowded during the weekend from morning till evening.

Botanic Garden is nice, but P.Ubin provide the rustic feel. [cool]

I like the way you put it. I am musing how to make the place more accessible with public transport. Those ferries from Changi usually starts when there are 12 passengers. [confused]

Local weather/climate fine for me because I walk fast enough to cool down with sweating. Many others I observed like dragged themselves along for free sun-taning session instead. [:p]

Some Singapore media tend to regard angmoh Dua~Ki mah.

Notice when they publish such letters supposedly from "foreigners", the author almost never fail in following SOP:

1st, writer will establish themselves as a "foreigner".

2nd writer will proceed to question why local don't know this or don't know that.

3rd write will propose certain changes to Singapore's policies or practices just to make their own life here easier.

Has anyone forget about this John Buckle PR who wrote in asking to enjoy citizen-benefit because "PRs probably pay more tax" ?

yes, this is from TODAY again.

Thats why they are FT who outsmart local scholars

Is Singapore becoming over-saturated with boring malls?

More mall space is coming up but is it still a case of the more malls, the merrier? Spoilt-for-choice shoppers and retail experts are wondering if what is in store from the new offerings is just the same-old, same-old.

Iluma in Bugis and Plaza Singapura in Orchard Road are getting new looks. Iluma will also be integrating with Bugis Junction via a reconfigured link bridge that connects the two, while Plaza Singapura will absorb The Atrium@Orchard.

When the revamps are completed, both malls will have almost as much combined retail space as Ion Orchard, one of the biggest malls on the premier shopping strip.

The Ion's retail space is a whopping 660,000 sq ft.

I believe most of us go oversea for their scenery more than the shopping mall. A brother of mine even told the tour guide no shopping mall be included into tour package. [laugh]

Haha... Brother i can believe. Sister or wife then will be very surprising! [laugh] Can never imagine my wife going for a tour without factory outlets. Have been trying to convince her to go Nepal or Tibet for the longest time, but so far no success.

Ever told by a lady, she had to be carried around after the first day hiking in Nepal. Both knees swollen by climbing those irregular and high steps the whole day (no escalators/elevators on the mountains). [shakehead] Hope no permanent damage/injury to her knees

Bhutan is ideal for the bro of yours then..bearing in mind it can be rather pricey even without shopping malls and prices are charged in USD

The children imprisoned so not found outdoor [shakehead]

Maybe indoor aircon provides more oxygen than outdoor natural air for the kids?

Do you have GT wing to prevent you from getting air born at such speeds?

Better keep these quiet places as secret. Otherwise, when they get crowded, garment starts imposing ERP, entrance fees. [rolleyes]

Or they will use excuses like "need to build new roads" to take over, later build condos.... :D
