I am not into the bus industry, but there are private bus companies in SG too. So there will be workshops to cater to servicing, repair and testing of buses.

Even the SAF transport branch have their own servicing, repair and testing facilities for their buses. Yes, SAF have buses too.

Can confirm or not?

Which workshop no pressure gauge to check air pressure?

Which workshop no battery tester to check battery life?

Isnt these testing? [grin]  [nod]

Same like those workshop that deals with valve testing. Just blank off the valve and connect to a pressure gauge. Pump in water and hold it at the rate pressure. If can hold for 5mins. Passed and issue cert with the workshop name. :XD:  Then for safety valve, just connect to air hose and pressure gauge. Once the safety valve release air at the stated pressure, passed. issue cert with workshop name. [:p] When I was in the shipyard, always go witness these type of testing at external workshops in Pioneer and Penjuru. The supervisor always offered me soft drink while I wait for them to setup the testing and I witness the process.

Why you never become 3rd party inspector? Sit there drink soft drinks then sign on the cert. After that coy collect 3k for 1 day of work so I'm sure the inspector must be quite well paid too.

What's the pre-requisite to be such an inspector?

I no inspector cert leh. I represent the owner for such testing. The owners usually not interested in such job one. But we in the shipyard want to hurry up service the valve, test it and install it back. So that the ship can undock.

These valves only can remove when vessel is out of the water.

As long as got cert from workshop, surveyor happy. Anything wrong can trace back to the workshop.

For me its a break from the usual grind. So good to do nothing and ppl fetch me to the workshop.
