jus a total replicate of the original UK version but end up being a low class copy, with a irritating young punk (cant even b bothered w his name), a fat guy (supposed US version JC) and an older middle age guy (supposed james may).

 

started yest on channel 407 starhub. i thk its becos the UK season ended last week.

sigh...counting down to the new season, UK edition!

give it time... opening episodes of 1st season tried to copy a successful formula but put off people who are already familiar with UK version. Also didn't appeal much to US taste.

 

Season 2 got better...and now they're on to season 3, defying critics

if im not wrong, yest shd b season 2....but ok wil give it another few episodes...act i love the dry humor of the UK version alot...n they also try to copy that... :blink:

Actually, this is season 2 and it started on Sunday night 10pm on BBC Knowledge ch 407. Latest episode of Top Gear on BBC Knowledge is on every sunday 10pm.

 

The young guy is Tanner Foust, two time drifting champion.

Ya, the show is not as entertaining as the UK one but I find it better than the Australia one.

ya they did mention he is a professional racer but sibeh childish n quite irritating. the only good out of this is i am beginning to like hammond more. [laugh]

I prefer US over the Oz. UK one is still the best. TG Korea is actually better than Oz in my opinion even though I don't understand a single thing.

Its better in Season 3 when they finally got up the courage to step out of the TG UK shadows with their own formula. Each spin-off series being a copy of the UK version definitely brings comparisons to mind, and neither the Australia nor US one can match up to the winning formula.

 

I watch TG USA as a separate program and its not so bad.
