Help!! EVO SST TRADE C180K

Have you consider tuning your car to gain more power and torque for your car based on Singapore Road condition?

My evo had 425bhp & 512Nm of torque when I sold it. Similar power/torque to weight as a stock 2008 GTR, but with 4 doors. I think this level of power is more than enough for SG roads.

I thought of tuning my current car. A chip can gain 30% more power, but in the end, I stick to stock, as the balance between power & fuel economy is really good, as well as service interval. Also, I can use normal 95 instead of 98 fuel.

I am not so much of the fuel price, but I do not like to fill up every 3 days, & there is something fantastic about having decent power (for overtaking, & accelerate form the lights), yet good fuel economy, without need for high octane fuel & short service interval.

My evo need to fill up every so often, & service every 5000km, & need min 98 Octane (but in Singapore its not a big deal as every pump station have 98), ride is also a little hard. I loved it, still do now, but I had to moved on, so no choice but to sell, but the nice memories will stay. [:p]

You may want to consider the C250. 0-100 is still a good 7.2 sec compared to the C180 at 8.9 sec.

The C250 saves road tax using the 1.8L TC engine, and is tuneable (refer to KBS Motorsports), where you can add an intercooler and chip up.

The Mercedes is definitely comfortable for the family and very good for cruising.

How about a4 2.0T quattro? Stock 210hp,350nm. With stage 1 upgrade, 270hp, 390nm from mtm (with full warranty from PA, costs S$3210 with gst from PA). http://www.mtm-online.de/en/products/mtm?F...IT=m3a4211270qc

You will get awd, power (270hp,390nm), dsg (7 spd wet clutch, same as ur SST), luxury (albeit entry level conti), and nice looks. 0-100 5.9s. Some even say it looks like a sleeper car. Also its comes with audi drive select, where u can choose between 3 or 4 modes - Comfort, Auto, Dynamic and Individual (optional, only on some specs). Comfort for the family, auto or dynamic when u feel like whacking the car. Go check here http://www.audi.com/com/brand/en/tools/adv...ct.browser.html

Your stock evo x should be 280 PS (206 kW; 276 hp) @ 6500 rpm and 422 N

hi bro

understand u r in germany. Can try those chip tuning boxes mah, such as swiss chiptec, tmc, koch. For the cost of maybe 200eur, u get 20% more hp and torque. For TMC tuning box, u get 193hp and 300nm for ur a3 1.8tfsi. Diy installation 5 min. Can take out before your servicing. And from personal usage, FC is similar or maybe u lose 0.5km per litre. For price to performance and value to money ratio, i say its definitely worth it.

Best of all, take it out before servicing so you dont void warranty, and you can re -sell it to another ride if you sell your call. You cant do that for ecu flashing.

Except for one thing:- the price gap between the Audi n Evo is too large to justify despite the gain in comfort. But if that's not an issue with TS, he could look at it.

Btw, is there a Lexus model, maybe the 250, as an alternative to the c180k?

The most basic IS250 lists at $216K.

So just like the Audi A4, it is too far a gap, from the pricing standpoint ...

C&C really packaged the c180k well..... Where is the catch, if any? :D

CHipping not expensive leh. ABT tune can get 210hp (160hp in stock form), & they claim same emmision level as stock, not to mention comes with real warranty. But must use 98 Oct fuel (not all pump station have).

But the most important thing is I find my current car in stock form very well balance, & I appreciate the engine for what it is in current stock form, so I am sticking to it.

I didn't even intend to get an Audi, just a small ford Fiesta, as first time driving on other side of the road, & not used to driving condition in Germany. My thought was to get a small & simple car, so if I hit my car here & there (which I already did a few times in my current car), its not so bad.

I was almost decided on the Fiesta but decide to take a last test drive on the A3. Sold by the audi after test drive.

In Germany, test drive is very interesting, they let you test drive for 30mins-1 hour...alone! Take down your particular & hand you the keys. Just explain a little on the gears & off you go.

But I am glad I got my current car. I think I will have a hard time shipping funiture home with the little ford. Coming from a 400+hp Evo, the pick up from the A3 is surprising not bad. The top end cannot hold a candle (afterall this is not s3 or RS3), but low end the acceleration is smooth & rather punchy with light tap (50%) on throttle at low rev. It does go out of breathe at high rev, not like my evo that pull hard to redline.

But in all honesty, for normal driving, I think its ok.

but my craving for speed is not over, as I am eyeing on faster, more luxurious car already, but not so soon. [:p] I am eyeing the new BMW 5er. Maybe I try a diesel, to feel the torque!

The loan!

Can the buyer redeem it at the end of first year without major penalty? I guess not [:(]

I try to drive slow maintain at 2k rpm on my evo, put silencer on exhaust, my wife feels more comfort sitting at the back now. The power to overlap when needed is still there, hv to agree is safer at times when u need the power, especially exit to busy main rd, think this car understand the driver needs, gonna tell my wife with current COE, i can't afford to change. That will put a smile on the driver face when alone.

160hp only. But torque not bad, as it has turbo. I do not have the figure in my head.

I think this power is good for Singapore road, but its "xiao mein yang" (small sheep) in Germany. [:p]

This what I try to do too when I want to enjoy a leisurely drive in my e9. I will just feather the throttle gently to keep with the flow of the surrounding traffic and relax.

To accommodate my wife's likes, when she said the front recaro is hard to adjust the angle of the backrest, I changed it to normal seat.

Turbocharged
(edited)

was at c&c earlier this afternoon.. mistook that twin exhaust c350 as c180.. for a bery brief moment.. waaahh..HANDSOME...

then saw the rear badge <_<[laugh]

ok.. back to reality.

the catch for it is min 5yr, 50% loan of $177888 at 2.68%, they will give u 8% of the loan u take as discount.

here's the calculations..50% is $88944. 2.68% interest will be $2384 a year. 5yrs will be $11920.

for the discount.. 8% of $88944 will be $7115.

so at minimum, the bank is earning $4805 from the deal.

c&c is also giving other credits to 'sweeten' the deal. so will bring the total price down further, similar to what bro heavenspirit mentioned above.

for lao jiao merc owners.. do c&c always give overtrade discount for current merc owners to 'upgrade'? (this overtrade isn't what we know to bring up loan, but a pure discount)

also, i got a question about the so-called resale value of a merc.

looking at sgcarmart, a 3-yr old merc is selling around the range of $120k.

seems like the owners lose about 12k-15k for a year of ownership.. has this been the case thru the previous years?

finally.. for a legacy gt.. does anyone know how much the body is worth for a 5.5yr old? they are eating it with about 10k above paper.
