How come your evo SST FC so good? Stock condition?

SST if stay on stock 18' rim , crusing 100km/h highway can hit 10.1km/l, fuel is really not bad if no boost. But at times with boost, lowest i get is 7.3 km/L, is a very good car.

Tested C180K 1.6, is like driving Evo with handbrakes on all the way, guess with sprint booster may ease the pedal resistance, overtaking car is not a problem, as it gets the jap 2.4L performance with the supercharge torque, the cabin is quiet, maybe i'm a bit deaf with my prolonge drives inside my Evo. Comfort n safety is great (very relax driving, light steering, good turning radius), interior and exterior looks good n slick.

Touch on Financial parts, My sst coming to 3 yrs old, if i hang on it, is like hanging on time bomb (20k-30k lost easily), due to pool of buyer reduce, having needs to pay higher installment, getting insurance difficulties etc... CnC offers me a trade in value which others dealer could not match (more than what i purchase for my evo), using the profit to offset this C180k. Though installment is higher by $300 /mth, calculation base on parts, tax, maintenace, insurance, i can easily save 7k per year by getting this C180k. Best thing is, every 2.5 -3yrs, can easily trade in without any top up for a new MB. Worst senario is only need to top up 10-15k if market is bad. Now i know y MB is a top selling car, (c 180 k class only) as depreciation is low and low risk compare to jap cars. I dont mind getting this 1.6, not to stress on having a big holes in the pockets, when times to change car.

You have answered your own question. Go for it.

Btw, what is the price of C180K now?

$177,888, after overtrade , $156,000.

Pls do not snub at C180k 1.6L car on road, as it is a $ for value car, not because of atas status.

We came to that same financial conclusion too, back in mid-Feb and got even better discount and over-trade!

So you waiting for what? Very good deal right?

Agree, it can only be said for the C180K, not all Merc models.

C&C has strategised very well on this aspect, re market positioning.

They must have employed an MIW scholar, I suppose [;)]

What a Husband and Dad you turn out to be. [thumbsdown]

Wife happy, there will be peace, there's the reason y evo are loud, cos the driver can't or don't want to hear the wife's complaining in the car.

Care to share whats the better discount you hv?

In 1H Feb, list price was $176,888.

Total Discounts & Overtrade = $26,888 (negotiated)

Net price = $150,000

No need take high loan then (unlike now)

Further icing on the cake:

S&P signed on basis of 1HFeb COE of $52K

Actual successful COE obtained in 2HFeb = $57K

Thus another $5K added onto the car's paper value.

We then laughed our way to the bank :D

If you really want to take the $5K higher COE and the $2K workshop service credit, then the net net price is $143K lor.

But we did not wish to view it that way ... call it serendipity, if you will - but it's still money not spent, or will not be spent!

Part of the reason is to save cost on petrol n not losing too much $ in future, but i really luv my ride, and had spend alot on mods, and is well maintain car. Don't think i'm ready for power downgrade, but juz the fear of hard to sell and lost alot $ in future for performance car.since merc open this overtrade dinggy, which helps ease the lost.

Just curious: can you not change your suspensions to a softer one for comfort of your wife and kids? or adjust the current one to the softest setting? downside is your daily driving experience becomes 'soft', but on some days, you still can reset it for some hard driving.

Their complaints on 'too torquey' can be overcome by you adopting a more 'gentle' driving style, not an issue.
