Very good watches. I own 2, one of which I got as a gift, the other I bought. Very cheap, reasonably accurate and very durable.

Get the ones with sapphire crystal face - they're practically scratchproof!

Orient watches are actually one of the Big 3 watch companies in Japan last time (other 2 being Citizen and Seiko) and they specialise in making automatic movements.

Seiko and Citizen decided to delve into the Quartz technology with Citizen going further into their Solar powered tech. But Orient remained with their automatic movt and hence, they somewhat had low publicity and some financial woes.

Seiko bought over the company but decided to leave Orient with its "own devices" literally. They mainly produce mechanical watches (55%) .

U can get more info here.

(go to their Paya Lebar branch, better prices and Leslie and Irene are damn nice people)

Good write up. While the Big Time branch is the main distributor (and Leslie and Irene are very nice and helpful), their prices are a little higher for most models than Skywatches at People's Park Complex. But warranty servicing, etc. is still done at Big Time, so you get more peace of mind buying from there.

Go for it. Have a look at their Mako II.

Generally, Seiko, Orient and Citizen from Japan all got standard one.

At 1st i'm sceptical abt skywatch, so this shop sell authentic watches ? So more their watch like seiko SNK809K2 selling 1/2 of what selling at Northpoint. [:/]

Authentic. Watch comes with tag, warranty cert, box, etc. and most importantly, Big Time acknowledges they are authorised distributors and will warranty watches bought from Skywatches.

Some models you can only find at Skywatches, like the beautiful blue sub "homage" (knockoff of the Rolex blue smurf) with sapphire crystal. Model no. CER00008D0.
