Just a thought, foreigners may frequent the 2 casinos and if they lost their money or even get into debts, they may resort to acts of desperation and may do anything to clear their debts or recoup their losses. Very scary.

In their mind - just do 1 time and get out of here.

Singaporeans may be getting complacent in terms of safety.

In hokkien term "sio sim bo si pun". Jaga your children well.

Sounds like "sio sim boh sai pang"

must be people in debts going round doing nonsense.

Seriously how fast can the polis be activated to reach the scene and set up roadblocks around Tampines?

By then, the van would more or less reached Tuas already, judging from the speeds these vans are going nowadays.

I think the complicated part comes when news are spread. I mean if it is hoax ok, the person who created it should be punish. But if it is real, by widespreading it may cause the person that been kidnapped in life danger. Just imaging if you are been kidnapped and kidnapper told the family that if they report to police, he will kill him. Plus maybe there is some evidence of where the kidnappers is ( i take it for example ) , but due to the widespread of the news, kidnapper may even know oh no police roughly know where are they, better change location. And many other implication.

So it does not help of widespreading information of kidnappers even if it is real as it not only hinders police operation but also put life in dangers of the person being kidnapped. This is what I feel.

so far did any parents of the missing child speak up to the media? and show the police report of their child missing, or were they warn not to speak as the police is investigating and maybe talking to the kidnapper for ransom??

But i guess all these messages can create more awareness among the public, and hope that one of these culprit can be beaten up once they were spotted.

i think such hoax can be charged under this:

Telecommunications Act

(CHAPTER 323)

Sending false message

45. Any person who transmits or causes to be transmitted a message which he knows to be false or fabricated shall be guilty of an offence and shall be liable on conviction
