On the issue of airline. Is it a problem if you get bumped onto another 'cheaper' airline because it is code sharing with the airline you've booked? Example, I booked ANA from Singapore to Tokyo to Chitose. Flew ANA from Singapore to Tokyo but the Tokyo - Chitose route, I was switched to Air Do, a budget airline owned largely by ANA.

It is like booking SQ from London to Perth and they put you on Tiger Airways on the SGP - Perth Leg. Do you think it is fair?

That was one of the best movie I must say!

This is like the Hunt for Red October when the XO mutinied against the Captain. ^_^

The Hunt For Red October was a novel by Tom Clancy and was made into a movie starring Sean Connery as a seasoned sub commander defecting to US in his Typhoon class SSBN Red October. BTW, he was viciously hunted down by the Soviet forces and viewed with suspicion by the US whose trigger happy sub crews almost sank his sub until the protagonist Ryan saved the day once again.

The mutiny by the XO was the scene in another thriller movie Crimson Tide starring two excellent actors, Gene Hackman as the by-the-book CO & Denzel Washington as his pragmatic XO of a SSBN. IIRC, there was a rebel takeover of a nuclear missile base in one of the former Soviet Union states and they threatened to launch the nukes against CONUS before the SSBN lost all comms.

The CO was hell bent on retaliating and to launch his own nukes against the Soviets as accordance to what his strict training tells him to but the XO refused to concur to use his own launch key to launch them ( in US SSBNs, you will need both the CO & XO to each use their key in order to activate and fire the nukes on board).

As a result there was a mutiny & counter-mutiny on board the boat (remember that the submariners consider their subs as a boat and NEVER a ship) which was a very chilling movie.

Thanks God that all is well.

I can't imagine the scenario whereby the FO went to the toilet, and the pilot lock himself in the cockpit. Then the aircraft is entirely in the pilot controls [bigcry][bigcry]

Like what they say in the army: if they cannot convince you they will confuse you...
