If LTA were to give $1 for every car summon to the summon aunty or cisco warden, then there will be lesser issues.

The problem is only because people illegal park, and waiting by the road side.

french usually good driver, its the ozzie soccer mums who stay at gardens or near braddel (near braddel shell there) and go to gardens, 99% cant drive, hang out like brazen < 5 letter begin/end with S> at chomp chomp and cant drive and lookout for passengers/traffic for nuts, most also go up the lane the wrong way

The estate roads back home in OZ land where they come from are at least twice as wide as ours, maybe they forget this is sgp, not their home town..... Sometimes I see Aussie kids speeding around in their skate boards, the French kids ride leisurely on bicycles...... French moms lobang their small kids on the bikes, Aussie moms drive kids around in SUVs......

why dun they ban cars into that place instead or build more carparks

I believe more practical to cycle there than park car there. Should have bicycles parking facilities replace carparking lots instead.

It is Friday night and Serangoon Garden is a motorist's nightmare. A never-ending stream of cars head for the popular enclave of eating joints and watering holes. Drivers honk and patience thins as they jostle for limited carpark spaces.

The compact centre of the middle-class housing estate is packed with 18 restaurants, coffee shops and a fast-food outlet, as well as the popular Chomp Chomp and Serangoon Garden hawker centres. On a busy night, car valet Adi, 45, parks up to 20 cars of patrons of Pow Sing chicken rice eatery. 'Weekends are the worst,' he says.

Resident S.L. Chan, a businesswoman in her 40s, says she avoids driving near the roundabout during dinner time at the weekend. 'The congestion is already bad. Impatient drivers and illegally parked cars make it worse,' she said.

Acting on residents' complaints, the Urban Redevelopment Authority (URA) imposed a ban last month: No more Serangoon Garden shophouses can be turned into food joints.

URA has done the right thing here. If too many food joints in one place, then time to decentralise the food joints to other places.

[thumbsup][idea] URA can also concsider decentralising office space to heartlands since CBD is always jam [thumbsup][idea]

Build mrt there good idea, but since the jams there already so serious, can't imagine when the mrt works is undergoing there, would create even more chaos!

Singaporeans have herd mentality

other poeple go there, they also must go.

I haven't eaten there in years and have no intention to go.

There are so many better place to eat in Singapore

with lots of parking spots.

Maybe it because everyone else is at Serangoon Gardens.

I hope they don't stop going there.
