KARTer 2nd Gear March 25, 2012 Share March 25, 2012 There still has to be some form of roll in a car. Too rigid a car might be dangerous for driver and passengers and other road users. Zero roll allows higher speed thru the turns provided the tyres can still cope and grip the road surface...... ... Else the car will slide or even spin..... Bucket seat will only hold the driver better and make him feel "safer"......... It doesn't affect how much the car rolls...
KARTer 2nd Gear March 25, 2012 Share March 25, 2012 To solve body roll in a go kart, reduce body weight. Likewise for a car. Remove the driver. [:p] Kart has near zero rolls coz it has no suspension ..... The chassis will flex a bit, but this is not body roll....
KARTer 2nd Gear March 25, 2012 Share March 25, 2012 Sorry, first time on track and pretty new to all these stuff.. For the purpose of learning car chassis tuning/mods which affect roll, try not to do too many things at one time.... Otherwise we cant really tell which mods we do give the most improvement. Personally, I will do thr mods in the order below:- Anti roll bars Top struts, bottom brace Harder springs and shocks (preferably adjustable ones) Hope this help..... Aeromania 1st Gear March 25, 2012 Share March 25, 2012 Change racing coils, bbk, strut bars, anti roll bar. full slick tyres cannot be used on road but u can try semi slicks but have to tahan the road noise though.
Kangadrool Supersonic March 25, 2012 Share March 25, 2012 With our roads as rough as those in 3rd world countries, I find that my french ride on stock softy suspension already too harsh sometimes. I can't imagine those on coilovers and lowered springs.
Bigbadguy 1st Gear March 25, 2012 Share March 25, 2012 Bucket seat will only hold the driver better and make him feel "safer"......... It doesn't affect how much the car rolls... Actually it does, Bucket seat is usually lower then stock seat, so slightly lowering the cg of the car, And usually its also lighter in weight compare to stock, so will affect a little on the car body roll lol. Cannot say totally no affect

Cannot say totally no affect Yes, when we go into details involving cg, etc.... Replacing glass panels with light weight polycarbonate sheets will also cut weight of upper car body, thus lowering the overall car cg....

Kangadrool Supersonic March 25, 2012 Share March 25, 2012 Install cane seat, solve all problems. Super light, easy to care, will not burn your ass after parking under the hot sun unlike leather, no dust flying around unlike fabric .
Rb26dett Clutched March 25, 2012 Share March 25, 2012 I had done all of the above before one at a time and personally I find that adjustable dampers make the most difference. after u have done all that , u will feel the chasis of the ride start to flex when you corner hard. thats where u start to remove the tar , weld ur chasis and add a roll cage .i've done that .it brings the handling to the next level.
