Australia: Must Dos in Sydney and Melbourne

I am taking a trip to Sydney in Oct and probably crossing over to Melbourne during the course.

 

For those who have been to the above, do highlight the things, foods, places there are Must-Do over there.

If you plan to drive in inner city Melbourne, at signalized road intersections with hook turns, you'd need to keep left to turn right!

If you plan to drive in inner city Melbourne, at signalized road intersections with hook turns, you'd need to keep left to turn right!

 

12 hours drive from Sydney to Melbourne. Probably call it a pass and take a domestic flight. :)

SQ fly to Sydney at S$700. Promo ends today

 

Melbourne > Great Ocean Road is a very very nice road trip. There are some nice cottage to stay in along Lorne. Nice quiet and peaceful =)

 

If you have kids, go Phillip Island around lunch time, see pelican feed. And penguins too. Whale spotting season coming(or already started) but i dont know if syd and mel can see them

I would certainly recommend a trip up to the Blue Mountains. ( grand canyon of Australia )

 

Go on a day trip with the local tours.

 

They'll stop at the local zoo or something where you can feel the wallabies and

Some other farm animals.

Stops at local produce store enroute up the mountains where you can get the freshest fruits

And then up on the top, have lunch at the local hotel.

 

Manly beach is worth a ferry ride too.

 

If you're there over a weekend, go to the Rock's weekend market.

I have been to all these places except Bondi, I went to Manly beach

but bondi is more famous.

 

I used to travel 4 times a year to australia for work.

Thanks bro. I got a pair to Sydney at S$750 only by SCOOT :P Dont have kids, but pelican and pengiuns well liked. Going in OCT, so i will miz the whale season?
