Mllcg 3rd Gear March 23, 2012 Share March 23, 2012 During peak hour, the traffic flow coming from lentor ave along Yishun ave 2 has priority and traffic going straight down and turning right will be allowed to proceed while all traffic including straight going traffic from Northpoint (along Yishun ave 2) will be stopped by a red signal. However, this timing phase is only for about 9 seconds after which the green arrow will cease (for traffic turning into Khatib NTUC) and straight going traffic from Northpoint will be allowed to proceed. Subsequently, any right turning traffic will have to wait for oncoming traffic to clear before turning right. You will observe the green arrow disappear but the green light will persist. I believe the fella was in this phase and he misjudged the bus's speed. Honestly, i think a lot of people do not abide by a basic "distance or speed" precept when negotiating their vehicles in the path of other oncoming vehicles. You should ideally have sufficient speed and sufficient clearance for best case scenario. Otherwise, you should have sufficient clearance or sufficient speed as a bare minimum. In the video, the fella have neither. actually, imo, the turning arrow lights are too short a time. to make it worst, alot of people take their own sweet time moving off. then only 2-3 cars turn and its red again. should increase the timing

Darthrevan Supercharged March 23, 2012 Share March 23, 2012 The one that is speeding is the taxi that filmed this video! Look at the speed the vehicle is moving while approaching the traffic light junction, where the vehicle stopped and managed to caught the accident in progress. good observation..i also thought the same..TP can use the video to trace the taxi driver and fine him for exceeding 50km/h on that road
Adrianli Hypersonic March 23, 2012 Share March 23, 2012 good observation..i also thought the same..TP can use the video to trace the taxi driver and fine him for exceeding 50km/h on that road So how much is TP gona fine him??? Exceed by 20km/h, 30km/h, 40km/h or 50km/h??? What was the frame rate of the video encoded??? Was the footage edited???(Most likely) Will TP go into such in depth just to fine the taxi driver??? 99.9% NO.
Happily1986 5th Gear March 23, 2012 Share March 23, 2012 actually, imo, the turning arrow lights are too short a time. to make it worst, alot of people take their own sweet time moving off. then only 2-3 cars turn and its red again. should increase the timing i observe that normally the turn right signal is very brief unless there are public buses using the turn right lane too. then the right turn signal is noticeably longer. Silver_blade Turbocharged March 23, 2012 Share March 23, 2012 (edited) "Spark door can inter-change with QQ door without modification." Is interchangeable doesn't mean locking mechanism are the same. I am shocked Spark's locking catch/mech could be so sub-standard. Even late-90's korean car should not have such design 'fault', let alone something which was from '04/'05. My guess would be the car had that door repaired or faulty catch. Edited March 23, 2012 by Silver_blade ↡ Advertisement
