" A man was flung out of the passenger seat of a car after a high speed collision with a bus near Khatib MRT Station. The entire collision was captured on video via a camera in a car facing the junction at the time.

The man appeared conscious immediately after the incident and did not seem to have been wearing a seat belt.

STOMPer Rachel, who found the video on YouTube, commented:

"This bus crashed into a car in front of Khatib MRT." "

That driver never wear seat belts in a Chevrolet Spark, anyway, not sure if the Spark was speeding across the junction *maybe blind if he didn't see that bus coming towards him [rolleyes] .

I believe those with night-blindeness really can not see (ever met one who confessed to be unable to see)

At the end of the video, I think there is someone behind the car seat. The driver and bus driver were trying to force open the door. Hope it is not a kid.

It appears that the car driver failed to give way to the bus which has the right of way.

The driver jump across the seat to assess the passenger's condition? Could have open his door and go the other way.

I wonder what he was trying to do towards the end of the vid. He was like trying to pull something out.

You are right - they use compressed air with an air compressor - so there's always the sound of air being released. Google it. Otherwise the driver will have to have a 1 ton foot [;)]

defensive driving 101....always prepare to stop at a junction.......slow down when approaching 1.

the car totally miss-judged the bus speed n the passenger suffers. but was the bus speeding...you be the judge! [gossip]

i think their breaks is different from normal car brakes? when you break you hear "Pisssssss"? well bus's does.. and bus break can't fit on cars

It's a Scania L113CRL(ELBO) from SMRT. It's most likely to be equipped with drum Air brakes. "When the brake pedal is pushed, routing the air under pressure (approx 100-125psi) to the brake chamber, causing the brake to reduce wheel rotation speed". Therefore you can hear the psssh when the driver releases the brake because the air pressure in the braking system is being released. ^_^
