PIAA versus NWB

After doing a search on the forum, I found most people using NWB and a couple of very good review on the PIAA.

As I will be back in SG for a couple of weeks, I am thinking of getting some replacement wipers for my car. Any recommendations? I am not 100% clear on the price but from what I gathered,

1) PIAA = $100 for a pair

2) NWB = $20 for a pair

If they both wipe as clean as the other, what is the generally life span like? I came across someone using a PIAA for 3years (on the forum) but not sure about the NWB.

The car is garaged and hardly under the sun. I would think the "shelf life" is more important as I would like something that can last a lot longer if it is not subjected to weather rather than something that will just deteriorate regardless. So if the NWB requires changing every couple of months regardless, I would definitely get the PIAA.

I also noticed that apparently the make of car affects the type of wiper to used. Like wiper A might work for a Japanese car but might not work as good for a European. So for that matter, I will be getting a set for my wife's New Beetle and a set for my 17 years old Nissan. Thanks!

Not sure about NWB but I had 1 PIAA on one of my previous car for 3 yrs before selling. I dare say it's durable provided you maintain the windscreen IE claying..

Good point.

Are they just the rubber replacement or a full wiper? Any recommendation where to get them or should I just go Autobac?

Average NWB lasted 1.5+yrs.

PiAA used for a few weeks only. Fittings not as good as NWB.

But. BOSCH frameless is better choice now.

How much are they? You mean the Aerotwins? I got mine from Taobao for around 15AUD but they're crap (maybe they're made in China and maybe they're left hand drive?). After a couple of months start making noise and I'm very particular about unnecessary noises.

Agree. Bosch very squeaky after a while even with proper cleaning of the wiper.

Yes its aerotwin made in China.

Keeping windscreen and wiper blades clean and smooth is key to quieter wipes.

i'm using the PIAA Vera Silicone wipers for 2yrs.. still wiping clean and no squeaks..

9~6pm Sheltered carpark (weekdays).. rest of timing is open air.....

weekly at least go Marina South/Tuas twice (can expect the dust condition).. [thumbsup]

As Bracula said, they still squeak. I wash my car typically every fortnight as its garaged most of the time and I take public transport to work. When I wash the car, I wipe the rubber at the same time after spraying water over it too. Still it squeak after a couple of months (less than 6months).

I'm leaning towards the PIAA to be honest. How much do they retail for and do I just get them from Autobac??? I'm after 22".
