Supercharged

It consider road accident since he kill the cleaner with a car and he probably get some years in changi chalet.....judge will not take it as death sentence...

Not only car accident, but also plus car theft, assaulting, and driving without valid insurance and murder.

Not sure he was drunk at that time. If he is, then it's another charge.

Backside will tear big big

Thinking of it, the cabby already activate distress signal and come out of taxi. I felt the system could be further improve if the distress signal activated would kill off taxi engine and only taxi driver or control centre has the access to restart engine.

Thus anyone who wanted to hijack taxi will not be able to drive off the vehicle and in turn improve safety.

Please do not add cost to the already costly system.

Taifmu Lee Hi Mr Baey, There is a news about a PRC getting into an argument with a Taxi driver near Changi Airport. The PRC end up hitting the Taxi Driver and hijack the taxi and killed a worker in an Accident at the budget terminal. Do you think you should ask the Singaporeans taxi drivers to reflect on themselves for creating the tension and argument with the PRC killer who are a level of status above the "Dogs" Singaporeans?

I look forward to the day when crimes are commited by foreigners more than locals!!

Dun need to look forward, for all we know... Already happening... Just the SPF keep putting out statistics that our crime rate has been sliding down year after year..

Now my estate carpark, there's even a police board stating that there a Theft of Vehicle and appealing for Witness since 2 weeks ago.. Never even see that happen here for the past 10 yrs or so..

Neutral Newbie

PRC AT believed to be a technician, charged with voluntarily causing hurt in committing robbery. If convicted, he can be sentenced to between five years and 20 years in jail and at least 12 strokes of the cane.

I hope he gets the full 20 years and 24 strokes of the cane. [rifle]

SINGAPORE: Police will be charging a 30-year-old Chinese national with voluntarily causing hurt in committing robbery.

Police said on Sunday that the charge will be read to the suspect in hospital, where he is warded.

Investigations into the case are ongoing.

If convicted, he can be sentenced to between five years and 20 years in jail and at least 12 strokes of the cane.

The suspect, who's believed to be a technician, is being investigated in connection with the death of a 34-year-old cleaner, Mr Chandra Mogan, at Budget Terminal on Saturday morning.

Mr Mogan died after he was hit by a taxi, allegedly driven by the suspect.

looks like the title of the thread has been changed a few tmes? [:)]

Must adapt as the facts slowly leak out.

Previous title suggests or allows possiblity that PRC may have intended/planned/conspired to hijack and kill the cleaner.

Now the new title allows the possibility of a misunderstanding with the cabbie, or the PRC may have suffered a seizure (the insanity defence according to Shin Min), hence the impromptu hijacking and unfortunate accident in the aftermath.

i know i'm not rationale to say this, but if this foreign thrash gets away scot free (because of some mental illness diagnosed in the investigations later), i'll be utterly disgusted

haiz... they should give mr horse a break

at least he's willing to engage in public conversation with the people

how many ministers and MP have fb that allow negative comments?

I think he was "arrowed" to do so or that's one of his portfolio eg outreach.

I am sure Baey did not volunteer as you suggested ("he is willing").

It is not a question of him being willing but that he has to engage.

I may be wrong as I read this somewhere sometime ago.
