Chewbacca 1st Gear March 8, 2012 Share March 8, 2012 Doesn't sound like it......and no news about CE based road tax yet. ↡ Advertisement
SimonTan 2nd Gear March 8, 2012 Share March 8, 2012 The new carbon tax will cause big cars to cost $5,000 to $20,000 more in 2013. So I predict that the cat.B COE will have a huge demand from now till 2013. Sure due to high demand, will push it beyond $100,000 per COE. Because AD n buyers will want to get the same big cars at a cheaper price in 2012, rather than to pay extra $$$ in jan 2013!
SimonTan 2nd Gear March 8, 2012 Share March 8, 2012 The opposite for small Cat.A COE, the quantum may dip to low level in November and December, as small cars with efficient engines, will be cheaper by $5,000 to $20,000 in 2013. So many will hold back their small car purchase in nov n dec.

Passion 5th Gear March 8, 2012 Share March 8, 2012 If all rush in and buy big car now and causes the COE to surge upwards more than 20k, then it is not sensible move. They will not push it above 100k as it is not financially wise to do so.
Jtay 1st Gear March 8, 2012 Share March 8, 2012 Looking at the list of existing models and how they fit in to the bands, i'm surprised that Elantra 1.6 falls under band A. I wonder if the earlier model (i.e. Avante) falls under the same category too. COS12_Egs_of_models_CEVS_bands_Annex_B.pdf ↡ Advertisement
