Hi Gurus, need help. Anyone with experience in why TP issue or not issue summon on the spot? I rented a lorry to help a friend move house. I thought the front cabin can seat 3 pax due to the seats design. Ok thats my fault for not finding out. Anyway, 3 of us sat there and kenna stopped by TP. TP copy my IC particulars and say summon will be sent to me later. Tried to ask TP give chance but failed haha.

Ok I'm not complaining, just that I am curious why didn't he issue on the spot? I always thought traffic offence caught on the spot will be issued immediately. Can anyone enlighten?

I think traffic offences are issued to the company who owns the vehicle and not the driver.

There is a chance that the police will evaluate your case by the end of the day for him.

If he can get more serious offence summons to cover his daily quota, then your minor offence will be kept aside or forgotten.

Pray hard!

I try appealing for an offence that stated inconsiderate driving that cause danger to other road user.

Their reply was you can do it in court to refute their claim but they argue that they trust their officer.

End of the story.... LLST lor Pay $150 + 6 points. [sweatdrop]

There is no quota for traffic police. So shall we stop saying they clocking quota? Anyway, some cabin allows 2 passenger 1 driver while some allows 1 passenger 1 driver. You must see the side of the truck to determine. Normally trucks under personal name is 1 driver 1 passenger.

Bro, TP carrys a few types of summon forms to be issued on the spot.

However, if your offence is not within the standard/prescribed summon form, or is eto be nforcing under different section (such as LTA ruling instead of RTA), then they would have to go back and lodge on a general report to porcess.

This happen when the driver is not stop (for moving offences) on the spot, then summon will send to registered owner. [:)]

knn....government sector always use this phrase.

i have a case previously with the TV license. they also state the same thing. ask me to go court and argue.

at that time, if i have a video recording camera at home, sure make them lose face in court.

cb kia stated in the letter that the officer step into my house to view the TV.

anyway, did not purse further since i really did not pay the tv license for many donkey years.

only kana fine S$200 + 01 year tv license fee.

Thanks guys for the replies. I will still try to appeal when I get the summon. If appeal reject then LLST and pay up lo. I ask the officer got points deduction anot? He said no. I asked him what is the fine? He said $200.

But yeah, an experience to share with you guys here should anyone wants to rent a commercial vehicle. My first time renting and got pawned LOL. I guess there's a price for every lesson learnt!

Haha, no problem at all. An expensive house moving lesson - better get the professionals to do it.

House moving not easy at all btw, got to dismantle this and that to fit the vehicle.

1 of my friends got stopped by TP for not belting up his infant in baby seat but rather just let the mummy carry. He got his IC particulars copied down by TP. But the summon never came. Its a very strange SOP they have.

Officer on the road shall exercise their discretion if you ask me. If they ask why never use the child safety seat, don't reply with nonsensical reply normally they will not do anything to them. Noting down particulars is just SOP for them to diary in their respective logbook. Not necessary must issue summon.
