Yes the IU belongs to you. You and take it out before you scrap the car.

It's just like a HP, it's transferable.

You have to tell LTA the IU number to link to your car should you buy from second hand IU.

so i just cut the wire and plug out from windscreen?

If I replace my car IU with a motorcycle IU, do you think the gantries are intelligent enough to spot it?

Meaning, when I drive past an active ERP gantry, I pay motorcycle rate instead of car rate [rolleyes]

Maybe you can go to LTA website and look at their FAQ. They do have the answer to how you can remove your IU and change to this fixed ERP rate. Seems like can pay together with phone bill.

i also read it.

from what i can see, u can remove it for the flat rate.

then pay using CC

Logic tells me it is not intelligent to spot it....

in fact if you drive through without an ERP unit at all, it probably is also not intelligent enough to detect.

but just dont be caught, when it comes to not paying money to govt , the fine is confirm very big big one....hahaha

One fine day, when you forget to insert cash card or cash card value runs low or when there's a system glitch, you'll be caught with your pant and underpants down. Seriously don't pray pray.

I think the zebra stripe painted on the road below the ERP gantry is to allow the system to judge vehicle types by the width.

If a vehicle with the width bigger than the widest motorcycle (i.e. Can-Am Spyder) detected but registering a motorcycle IU signal, I think the gantry will snap a picture [cool]

My iu unit got damaged by the eps carpark

Anyone encounter this before?

I can go in but when coming out the iu stated error n just died

Can I hold the carpark mall liable for it?

Now it's a hassle as the iu is totally dead

I drove with a faulty IU for a couple of months before , lazy to go vicom or sta to repair

For carpark just insert cashcard to pay

Understand but can the carpark spoil my iu unit? Cause it was perfectly fine but died when I exit.

There was a red beep n it just died
