Vulcann 6th Gear March 5, 2012 Author Share March 5, 2012 From the way it is heading, we may very soon adopt what countries like Japan are doing which is to provide special smoking rooms for the smokers like what is depicted below: That way hopefully no more conflict between smoking folks and non-smokers. So comes the next question: who is going to pay for the building/construction of smoker rooms? Duties collected from ciggies/cigars?

Special areas like RWS/MBS casinos they allow but we are talking common areas like heartland spots like in this case food centres. I think when they have carefully calculated both the physical and political costs, more stringent action may be taken to push smokers further to a corner... But I will not think they will go as far as banning smoking in our little red dot...

Yes, there is a whole list of areas where smoking is banned. But really the key is the enforcement. Even if they ban smoking in people's home and cars, how can such a ban possibly be enforced? Great minds think alike [laugh] They can come out with 1,001 laws and regulations but the difficulty is always, always the enforcement part. Remember when they announced no smoking in kopi shops other than at some odd corners? Irate public then started to call up NEA about folks violating this and wanted action taken. Till this day I can still see contented smokers puffing away at non-smoking areas occasionally [rolleyes]

By the time NEA officers come down, i'm sure the people would have finished smoking... how to enforce like that?
Mightymito 1st Gear March 6, 2012 Share March 6, 2012 There are some of us who believe that by the time we get lung cancer they would have found a cure for it. We are betting our lives on it. And there are some of us who dont intend to live forever. Why not just leave it alone. Passive smoking? Dont be an idiot. Why dont you start your car and put your face behind the exhaust. ↡ Advertisement
