SimonTan 2nd Gear March 4, 2012 Share March 4, 2012 Take back your car. Drive and wait for a taxi to come up behind your car. Jamm brake to agitate the taxi driver. Allow the taxi driver to cause a accident with you. So that you can claim higher than the excess front he other party! It's stupid to buy insurance and yet have to fork out excess of $2000 for minor accidents.

Are you stupid or are you an idiot?

You claim against his policy....what has it gotta do with your excess ?? You can claim for lost of use as well....(unless you go back to agent then you have to claim OD first and then file the claim against his policy to get your NCD reinstated. But be warn...once you claim for OD even if you get your NCD reinstated...it will be considered as a claim before and will effect your policy renewal. If its minor...go to outside workshop to settle and claim against his policy directly.

Evolute8 Clutched March 4, 2012 Author Share March 4, 2012 (edited) if u claiming against the other party's insurance, then where got care about your excess one? the workshop said something like: 'the repair is gonna cost less than 2k, so not able to claim...but we will try for you' 'even if we change the whole bumper for you...it's only few hundred, can't hit 2k to claim' i seriously doubt changing the whole bumper cost less than 2k. Seanboi 1st Gear March 4, 2012 Share March 4, 2012 how to claim against his policy directly? me first time kenna this kind of stuff.. You have to make an accident report within 24hrs. Call up ur insurance company to inform them and ask for guidance if you are not sure. Den just proceed to workshop* ask them to settle for you. DO NOT claim against your own insurance FIRST. SOme workshop will ask you to do that. Maybe that's why the workshop mentioned about your excess.

Do you have your own workshop for handling the claim on your behalf? If none, can check with RDY Autocare, they handle such matters for me least time. Got new door for my car. Passion 5th Gear March 4, 2012 Share March 4, 2012 I think TS not telling the truth. If you claim other people insurance, no need base amount. For my case, one Malay uncle hit my car, say until so sincere for private settlement. At my back claim my insurance say I hit him even though I have black and white for him admitting fault. And guess what, the claim is only 120 dollars. Damn cheapo uncle.
