5936 1st Gear March 4, 2012 Share March 4, 2012 If you dont mind the health effect of Telfon or PTFE family of anti stick coatings, this looks good enough. My guess will be $500+ for this cooker. The other cheaper option will be the Tiger rice cooker with 4mm inner pot. For me, I try to avoid anti stick coatings, so I am using a clay pot rice cooker. but only conventional design available. Scb11980 1st Gear March 4, 2012 Author Share March 4, 2012 apparently i heard that the way you cook the rice is important that is why the japanese have been trying to come up with a rice cooker that mimick the way japanese cook their rice by the way i have bought almost all types of rice and tried
Lala81 Hypersonic March 4, 2012 Share March 4, 2012 Cant compare rice u eat in japan with here. In Japan, every single grain of rice in the country is local. There have been several food scandals when restaurants use non-japanese rice. They import a small amt of foreign rice every yr to satisfy other countries for open trade. And what they do with this rice? either let it rot away or feed animal stock

SimonTan 2nd Gear March 4, 2012 Share March 4, 2012 Japanese uses their best rice and also add special sauce. Any cooker will do. When the water boils, it will transfer the heat to cook every single rice grains. No need special Panasonic diamond powder costed pan or fuzzy logic to do its magic. Once you cook the rice for one week, using any electric cooker or pot, you will know the amount of water vs cups of rice ratio to get super delicious rice. If you don't know how much water to add to the rice, the fuzzy logic of this Panasonic also cannot help you.
