This is a very good camera, excellent photos. However, you can also consider the canon s100 as the LX5 has been out for abt 2 years already

S100 is successor to S95?

 

S100 and Lx5 would be very close competitors. Either one shld be a good compact camera at the level below the mirrorless large sensor cameras.

Good camera. U can get good condition 2nd hand ones from clubsnap forum.

great camera if you like to have control over your aperture/shutter, etc. i just recommended to my boss and got one for him. getting one for myself during upcoming IT show also (hope they are selling).

 

another good one is olympus XZ-1, which has slightly brighter aperture at F1.8. But having been a pana user for last few yrs, and considering the leica lens, i will recommend the pana anytime.

 

i am not a fashion chaser, so dun really mind getting an old model
