6 / 2 x 3 => you have to do the multiplication first then divide.

So, 6/6 =1.

 

Just like y/x^2. We have to do x multipy with x first before y divide x^2.

Rule 1. Calc all workings enclosed in brackets first

 

(1+2)

 

Rule 2. Remove the brackets.

 

Rule 3. Calc the first multiple or division symbol first

 

So its 6/2(1+2)

 

becomes 6/2(3)

 

Becomes 6 / 2 x 3

 

Apply rule 3 = 6/2 = 3. 3 x 3 = 9

 

after step 1:

6 / 2(3)
