Let just imagine, the moment you turn into any highways, you pay $3/- ...... :slow:

I daily drives on weekdays to Jurong to pick up wife from Sengkang using TPE (out from Jalan Kayu) to SLE to BKE and then KJE.

Let say each highway $3/-. KNN total journey to Jalan Boon Lay, $12 ...   :a-m1524:      :a-m1524:

Journey back using PIE to Toa Payoh another $3/- which total payment equal to $15/- per day which doesn't include the fuel cost, tyre wear & tear ..... :ouch-it-hurts:

Taxation and control of usage is one natural component of "car light".

If this gets implemented fully, we might even increase COE quota further.

Lots more cars but mostly parked in carpark during peak hours as the costs far outweigh benefits for some people. Consumer win Govt win - a good long term strategy?

I'm guessing a real-time variable congestion charge depending on current traffic situation. Of course, it's not gonna work.

Yes, it won't work because by the time you're in the congestion (and adding to it), you've already been charged and there's no getting out of it.

the moment the unit in your car cannot establish a GPS connection with satellite, it will automatic trigger a love letter to your house

Try to use on the existing ERP system and see if it works.

It'll not work on the ERP system due to different operating frequency.

The IU and ERP units are on the 2.4Ghz.

It would have been much easier to disconnect the IU, put on a fake number plate and drive through.

question is ... how accurate is this stuff ? If charge wrongly how ?

if satellite pai means no ERP ? [bounce2]

now EZ-Link charge wrongly its up to commuter to self check and then go to Transit-Link office to do claim ... totally the wrong way of doing it.

It is very accurate as long as it uses both GPS & GLONASS in the OPEN.

To achieve the same accuracy in Shenton way as in the open, some kind of relay also requires

I think one brother post something like a Google tracking map thingy before, I log in and view and it was quite scary that it track every corner I been to on a particular day, from beginning of the day till I reached home. [sweatdrop]

OK we can advocate self pay.

We self check how much we use and we pay ourselves.

Haha just kidding.
