Elmo 4th Gear February 28, 2012 Share February 28, 2012 Very commendable of the old chap. Any maid will be happy to work for him because he treats her like a good employee and not the master-servant attitude most S'poreans display towards their maids. For me I don't know whether I will be so happy playing basketball with my maid if I keep kena block-shot / steal Just joking.

Many would say yes...they'll do it..take the $2000...and run away... Not run in a marathon...
Masterclass17 Neutral Newbie February 28, 2012 Share February 28, 2012 Think it will be good motivation for those people who want to start running and need a target to spur themselves on. Recently had started running again after like 5 years, thanks to threat of RT, managed to cut from 95 to 80 kg.. hope to achieve 70 by year end. She does owe him her life, being overweight would have brought her so many health problems.

But unfortunately, even the nicest employers do not have the gratitude and appreciation coming in return from their maids... With most of the maids BREAKING CONTRACT, jumping from one Boss to another for a few petty dollars, not to mention all other misdemeanor being commited some bordering on killing the employer or their kins... Maids employed by the likes of Tan Kok Sing breed are very, very rare indeed...
Curahee 1st Gear February 28, 2012 Share February 28, 2012 (edited) will you guys/gals do it if your boss pay you $2k for the 24km run? Train and run like siao for 24km run to get 2k reward is a bit little. For the pinoy is different case coz 2k convert to pinoy peso is abt 68k peso. Lots of money back home. Maybe the boss can offer 68k SGD, n u will see sporean willing to train and run for the 24km run Edited February 28, 2012 by Curahee

I think maids of my parents' generation are more loyal and will appreciate being treated well. My personal experience with 4 maids are that the new generation are more spoilt/ pampered and not too serious abt making $$. They will climb all over your head if u treat them even slightly well. See my friends who treat their maids sternly (NOT cruel) have more well-behaved maids and also worked longer.

My family had two from my grandfather's place come take care of us then, and later they started their own won tun noodle stall at the old Central Police Station. Both passed away many years ago. Aerosmith 2nd Gear February 28, 2012 Share February 28, 2012 there are really loyal maids, my relatives had one for 25-30 year? she from mother become grandmother. she was rich enough to built a bungalow and employ 2 maids in her hometown for her son, but she still works here not because of the pay but because she treats it like part of her life already. there was once we ask her try to retire, but after 1 month later, she still came back lol. ↡ Advertisement
