A second does make a difference

My car came to a halt at a pedestrian crossing. A man was crossing, he was halfway to the other side of the road. A bike came from nowhere, the rider didn't slow down or stop, but zoomed past the man, a few cm away. If the man had walked a second faster, he would have been knocked down. I couldn't see the no. plate, the motorcycle was too fast, and my in-car camera couldn't capture clearly.

Just had close call too this evening with a bike cutting lane right in front of me as I was moving off. In the heat of the moment, I wished all the ills upon that biker. Moments like this that can upset what suppose to just a simple evening drive.

seriously farked up motorcyclist. he should have anticipated someone was crossing the road when he saw that your car had stopped before the zebra crossing? this is what i call no brains and no common sense, or just the heck care attitude. btw is this the junction of pie and jln eunos?

on another note, maybe lta should consider putting blind spot mirrors on either side of the zebra crossing for scenarios like this when there is a blind spot caused by the car stopping on the left. this blocks the view of the driver on the right to see the pedestrian if he crosses from the left.

There's a possibility that the man was already anticipating the bike? That's why he stopped there?

So lucky, that pedestrians alert enough to save himself from injuries [thumbsup] . Other pedestrians would had assumed the motorised traffic will stop for them without fail and be casualties [thumbsdown] .

Sad to said this, but these kind of things happened all the time on the road, no-one can save them if they do not want to save themselve. Cutting into right of way from behind at high speed is another of their favorite stunts on the roads. <_<

I believe when it comes to survival, some people quite really immature. A ex-colleague told me if the motorist knoked him down fore jay-walking, the motorist in the wrong. [:p] He did not mention concern for his own injuries if any. [confused]
