The speech was made shortly after the Singapore Democratic Party rally had ended. Police are investigating if Dr Chee had committed an offence under the Parliamentary Elections Act.

After Rally given short speech Police immediately check.

TPL FB issue diam diam.

That statement of him going to stage to give short speech is very tame already. If u are live at the rally like I do, you can see how he climbed and ran on stage shouting shouting at the mic. Police officers also ran on stage and trying to pull him away.

Would you still vote for someone like that after witnessing the chaotic scene??? Of cos nobody would lah!!!

Quite surprise so many people "respect" him...

Either these people got short-term memory or They are still sucking their mother's milk in the 90s when the incident happened.

People tend to forgot that CSJ was brought in by CST to SDP and groomed him. Then after awhile suddenly CST resigned from SDP due to disagreements with it's member and CSJ took over SDP. Many forgot that during that time it was an emotional setback for CST and rumors say CSJ instigated the whole thing.

I only know that CST was the only respected opposition figure during that time and the moment CSJ took over SDP and choot all the pattern that when downhill.... I don't have any respect for him liao....

It's been very long ago but I believe many of the older staunch CST and SDP supporters still remembers it.

yup. selective memory + ignorance. csj caused the downfall of sdp. after 1991 ge, sdp was power opp with cst leading - bt gombak, nee soon central and pp were sdp wards. once csj kicked out cst, and pp retained as cst's spp, sdp had nothing. nothing at all ever since then under csj's leadership.

It doesn't matter whether he was a mad dog in 2006. I expect accurate non biased reporting by MSM in 2011 but it was not the case.

The last election, he has calmed down already, no such behavior. But during the 2006 election, he was like a mad dog on the loose!!! I was there live to witness everything :

CST and CSJ both are 'difficult men' to begin with...so with such personality..I'm not surprised that there are sparks and fireworks when they come together... :D

FFS. It is clear as daylight that despite his good work as an oppo MP, Chiam is terrible at power sharing or working with any grp of people except for his wife. I am not saying CSJ is not at fault, but look at Chiam's record. All his life, people abandon him. Do try to read the trend. Chiam is part of the problem, if not THE problem.

Potong Pasir was lost because he chose Lina Chiam to take over him.
