First series is above the romance of the qing dynasty with Yong Zheng.....the history of how Yong Zheng came into power and become the emperor is already a story line that make the series attractive...there are many drama series based on this history and it never failed to sell....from the old hongkong series and now 步步惊心。。。。。with a modern sotryline as backdrop....I doubt it will generate the same popularity as first series...as least to me.....the show is good because of the Yong Zheng history....Not so much about RuoXi going back in time....
