Three SMRT workers diagnosed with TB

Two SMRT train drivers and one crew manager have contracted tuberculosis (TB).

The Straits Times understands that the three - from Tanah Merah station - were diagnosed four to six weeks ago. Two were found to have latent TB, and the other was found to have active TB. Latent TB is not contagious, but can develop into contagious active TB if untreated.

Hairline to some

But Stress for many others [laugh]

LTA COE resignation is just as minor as hairline crack, will not create undue panic to the general public one.

Doesn’t seem to be leaping out into a completely different arena…..

(Press bit) In a shock announcement to LTA's staff of some 6,000 people, Mr Chew said he was leaving for "personal career development" in the private sector. While he did not say where he was heading for, there is speculation that he would join the Singapore Technologies

Turbocharged

When they visited the train manufacturing plant in China, they were delighted over the cheap price and there was a signage which showed "Guarantee No Spoil".

They thought that they have struck a good deal and brought all the carriages back.  One failed after the other and they decided to go back to the plant again and question the claim stated on the signage.

And so, they were told:

"大哥, in our country, we read from right to left".

E-bus to ply public route in trial lasting six months

An electric bus will be tested out for the first time in Singapore on a public route, in a pilot which could see more of such green vehicles being used for mass transport.

The Land Transport Authority (LTA) revealed to The Straits Times yesterday that it is working with Shenzhen-based automaker BYD and bus operator Go-Ahead Singapore on a six-month trial to assess the suitability of e-buses for public transport.

The single bus to be used in the trial is a single-deck K9 model from BYD (Build Your Dreams) which can carry a total of 80 passengers. Commuters can hop on this bus on one of the services that will be operated by Go-Ahead Singapore, the LTA said.

Hope Build Your Dream buses don't have hairline cracks ...

very appropriate indeed

how could admiral and general assume such critical position without experience in the field for at least several years ... ordinary people has to gain at least 20 years experience to assume the top job

imagine admiral and general suddenly become doctor and do a bypass surgery for the patient ... [lipsrsealed]

I always say imagine the reverse.

If some general can just be given CEO of multi billion dollar organisations. (Usually ruining it)

Maybe then people like ng teng fong, kwek leng beng, Peter lim etc can become CDF of SAF anytime too, or at least command a few divisions. Interchangeable one ma according to the govt...

That's the system of our govt and their thinking ...

Very hard to change and just a matter of time they will parachute another BG into the top post of govt-linked companies ....

Will not work again and again ... Haiz

Well. .

An army general went to NOL.. company gone.

A navy admiral went LAND transport authority. .. gone.

Maybe an airforce general next to take care of the next multi billion UNDERGROUND mrt line.

Everything here they also like to papachute BG, from govt-linked companies to political.  [rolleyes]  Maybe this is the only career path for all these army BG after they moved out from SAF?

all these BG may perform well in their area because they manage with their "rules" and all follow "rules"

when you talk and ask people kee chiu ... people kee chiu

in the private sector ... it's a whole new ball game ... asking people kee chiu does not work
