Actually when peak hour heavy rain, train by right should be the fastest mode of transport.

Peak hours heavy rain, everywhere sure jam, if no car or never drive, difficult to get taxi ( I don't know about uber though). Take bus also slower due to traffic jam.

Seems like nowadays taking public transport can be more stressful then driving which should not be the case. Driving during peak hours can be quite stress for some due to traffic jam and also scared being risk of accident, road rage etc.. Well..

Drive also cannot, take public transport also cannot, then how le? Lol.

Lightning strikes 'won't hurt MRT commuters'

The steel frame of an MRT train keeps commuters inside safe from lightning strikes, and is like the protection offered when one is inside a car or an aeroplane, said experts.

Hence, a lightning strike, which was suspected to have crippled an SMRT train during a heavy thunderstorm on Wednesday afternoon, would not be dangerous to passengers inside the train.

MRT ridership must have dropped ....  [:p]

experts say one ... wonder if these experts themselves will take train if its heavy rain with lightning ...  <_<

Still ok as ours only less than 30 years........ :we-all-gonna-die:

Haven't reach a decade yet .. :ignoring:

So the lightning thing that caused the breakdown is once in 30 years.

gewtting stuck by lightning can give you incredibly lots of power:

Bro, when lightning strike or any damage that results in frying the electrical system, the safety protocol built within is train comes to halt.

His point is... The train won't jam brake.

bro, if there is power cut or lost immediately like a lightning strike, you want to jam brakes also got no chance.
