Size of glovebox for example...

was checking out (for fun) citreon C6, and got a mild shock when i opened the glovebox!! ........ it's small, cant even put more than 3 apples inside!!!

the Picasso also, same tiny glovebox, but at least the top of the dashboard can be flipped open and there is one shallow 'box' each on either side.

my 6yr old jap car's glovebox is big enough for one loaf of roti (if i squeeze it a bit to fit in)

do modern cars all come with such tiny glovebox (maybe because of passenger side airbag compartment?) ??

also, the C6 is selling around 130k (not the top model but comes with 1.6 turbo), hyundai's i45 is about the same price.... although i am not buying anything, but feel the C6 is better value for money

You put apple & roti prata in the glovebox?

Admittedly, while it is call glove box, many people do put other stuff inside.

In fact, I think less than 1% of Singapore drivers even put a glove in their glove box. For me, my user manual & car documents are inside the glovebox. I do sometimes put my gloves inside, but sometimes not, especially when the gloves are wet (or will be wet) so not to wet the documents. I will either put in pessenger seat (if no pessenger, wear the glove & drive, or at the side door porch).

Yap, I do love big glove box, but my current one is not bad. But still not as big as my previous lancer, but it has nice suede wrap & lights when open.

The last time I checked, we have no winter in Singapore. Therefore, the glove compartment must be for us to store other stuff.

I think you are talking about C5? C6 discontinued by C&C.

Neutral Newbie

You should see the series of YouTube car reviews by "carbuyer". They seemed to have this thing about reviewing cupholders, side pockets and glove box. Surprisingly, there are still cars with big compartments.....

the purpose of the glove box compartment is to keep condom out of sight...

Unfortunately, eith they had not made it small enough or no one was to build a hidden compartment

glove box are for putting gloves ya? do not need a big one just to put a small pair of gloves [laugh]

My take:- dashboard designer must move with the time --- just provide tiny compartment/box for rubber
