JaydenSTI 1st Gear February 21, 2012 Share February 21, 2012 i believe sg context in vehicle reliability is totally differ from other country, as most ppl who bought those luxury made are generally more well to do, and would change car before the car turns 5yo. other country would stay put to their car for a much longer period, thus they have a real test on the reliability of vehicles. my 2 cents....... Jtay 1st Gear February 21, 2012 Share February 21, 2012 If given a choice, I don't think i'll get another Hyundai. My Avante only 3 years old (30+km in total with regular servicing at AD), but I've seen the fuel consumption drop from 13km/litre to 9.5km/l now. and i'm not even heavy-footed. Tarquin 1st Gear February 21, 2012 Share February 21, 2012 (edited) KIA Picanto is No.1 in the Top 100 cars. No kidding! Top 100 Cars Mazda 2 No. 10 Quite true...though car just turning 2 years by Oct 2012 but no change in performance since the day I got it.... Too bad..when my "monkeys" (2 kids) grow "longer" in say 4-5 years from now may definitely need to change if not will use until max.. Jchuacl Clutched February 21, 2012 Share February 21, 2012 The mileage of most folks here are pretty low. For me, I used both my JDM cars thoroughly in mileage (> 40k per year in mileage) and feel that JDM cars are better built than the usual export Japanese models. i believe sg context in vehicle reliability is totally differ from other country, as most ppl who bought those luxury made are generally more well to do, and would change car before the car turns 5yo. other country would stay put to their car for a much longer period, thus they have a real test on the reliability of vehicles. my 2 cents....... Alim 1st Gear February 21, 2012 Author Share February 21, 2012 (edited) My take is that Conti cars have lots of electronics compared to Jap cars and are prone to failure. May be that's why it is less reliable. Here's one example: Audi A8 electrical failure caused 12km traffic jam Edited February 21, 2012 by Alim
