CNA news report : Rail component comes off train track

SINGAPORE: A small rail component measuring about 10 centimetres came off along the tracks near the Jurong East station, on Monday afternoon.

 

The rail component will be replaced on Monday night after passenger service.

 

A spokesman for SMRT said the incident took place at about 1.20pm.

 

Train service was not affected.

 

The spokesman added SMRT engineers have checked that it is safe for operations.

Is this the piese where the experts recommended to use the plastic Tie-cord to secure it?

If it is....then it's a joke.

If one piece can drop out. I wonders how many of the millions pieces on the track are loose or not securing the track anymore.

Looks like our MRT system is very poorly maintain. Everything seems to fall out liao!

 

I thot tbat time donno which guy the new trains over weight? If trains too heavy, hiw to blame tracks. Must look for the guy who bought the over weight trains

Nope, this one happen in Jurong East ...... :ph34r:

 

Our tracks is falling apart, maybe they will try cable tie again to keep it secure until their engineer think of something more solid... [:p]

hmmmm........ [sly] , next the passengers will pay by weight to board the mrt trains. Just like boarding a plane where excess baggage weigh have to pay .... [sunny]

I believe any over-weight trains in use can do such damage

Hope to see another major disruption. 1 slap not enough. ^_^

 

But then I'm sure they will apply for fare increase again, reason being increase in maintenance cost.
