Looks like a Maserati right??

Yes Ghibli. Along with the Shamal, these were the last pair of older school Maseratis from the 80s era before the new curvy shaped 3200

Used to be one of my dream cars.

Dunno man, Singapore sometimes surprises with oddball cars you never expected to see.

There used to be a Rover SD1 with number plate ...3500... running round. Havent seen it in 10 years also.

This Ghibli was in very good condition.

The older Maserati's (222, 430, 228 the whole biturbo era etc) were special for me cos I think back in the 80s, not many 4 door or 2 door boxes had V6 + turbos + RWD. For me, even at that age before I got my licence, that combination seemed like the proper set-up for a car.

The orochi look more like a snake and there's a good reason, "orochi" means snake in Japanese...

Orochi actually would be a legendary eight headed serpent rather than a snake in particular.

But don't mind me, just being pedantic.

The word "orochi" literary translate to 大蛇 in Japanese. Which is big snake if you read it in Chinese. So I thought it's just snake.

The 8 headed serpent you mentioned is something something orochi iirc.

Anyway lets not be too nazi about it...cos at the end of the day, its an ugly car...lol

well, yes, the Kanji for "orochi" (which is a japanese word itself) is 大蛇, and sometimes they call it 大蛇丸 (Orochimaru). But in Chinese those would be "Big Snake". Or "Great Snake"... same results if you translate each kanji individually. Ahaha.

Orochi I think really doesn't have a direct translation, some might say it means "dragon"... since it's really a name. It's like trying to translate "Shiva" or "Zeus".

But I'm really just being pedantic. So I better get back on topic!

I used to like the MitsuOrochi's looks, back when I saw it in the motorshow back in the day, 2008 I believe. Now I look at it and I'm like ... it's weeeeeird...

I'm just wondering why would people bother converting their vintage rides to classic plate? It diminishes the value instantly as classic plates cars can be imported really cheap from overseas.

In comparison, vintage cars on regular plates can only be driven in Singapore from the first day on our roads. that is decades of history there.

I thought both Vintage cars and classic cars scheme is almost the same except that for vintage you have option for normal COE and restricted at 10% of Coe (28 days @ $10/- a day) and they have to be prior to 1940 or something like that so they would be too delicate to be used as a daily ride (IMO) ; The COE is a killer component

There is only regular, classic and off peak schemes in singapore, iirc. When I use the word 'vintage', it is a figure of speech to denote cars more than 30years since import

Singapore allows importing foreign vintage vehicles into Singapore only for classic scheme.

For regular scheme, vehicles must not be more than 3 years old.

As such, a vintage car on our roads on regular plates is definitely registered locally since the first day.

A vintage car on classic scheme may be foreign imported, which compared similar makes are multiple times cheaper than the local equivalent.

As such, if one has a vintage car, he should keep it on regular plate as not to diminish it's value. Unless the coe and road tax are killers of course. But if so, why not stick to bnb cars?
