Errrr.... isn't $200/ear normal for a specialist? If it solved tinnitus,  2000 also pay lor

Go to ear specialist to clear the ear sure need $200 per ear since they are using some special equipment to clear. Lol. Even not $200 per ear, think also need $100 plus per ear. Unlike GP is using ear syringing which is troublesome, that's why cheap.

Re-starting this ear problem thread.

Recently i woke up feeling one ear is blocked, the sensation of water getting in, like during swimming or shower sometimes.

Do the usual remedy of hopping around while tilting the head, but of course since i just woke up feeling like that, obviously it's not the usual causes.

And going into 2-3 days already where any water ingress would have evaporated, the problem did not go away.

Some people say infection, but didn't have any pain or pus, so i guess can rule this out? Unlikely a small insect crawled in also.

Happened to me just last week. Suddenly right side blocked. At first thot rain water go in as caught in the rain. But like u said if water next day be gone.

went doc the next day morning.. doc said ear wax and gave me some ear drops to apply..

then suddenly by noon become very giddy.. once stand up the whole world spinning.. like vertigo like that.. sat still on my chair for nearly 45mins..

once more stable went to doc again.. this time another doc.. after hearing what i experienced he said might be Ménière’s disease. He wrote me a referral for ENT.

be seeing one on 3 Jan..

I think if your ear one side block, then got giddy, usually doctor would say Ménière’s disease. I also don't know how they concluded it? Think Ménière’s disease no way can use device to scan and check, usually is based on symptoms happened. But such symptoms can be anything also.

The doctor you seen really power la. 😅

Anyway, for any ear issue, not easy to find the real issue and find a cure for it even from a ear specialist.

This one looks like the most pleasant solution and cheaper than specialist [laugh]

But not easy to find squeaky clean ones or those that don't try to push other services on you

Could be nasopharyngeal cancer too. Hope it's not but do a nasal scope to be sure

(edited)

Finally went to a GP who used a suction device to remove blob of earwax that was touching my eardrum. That was causing the water-trapped-in-ear feeling.

Solved the problem and cheaper option too, compared to $200+ per ear [laugh]

Thanks for all the suggestions, I didn't know some GP clinics could do this and advertised such specialty on their website.
