How much basic pay?

I think its very dependent on industry... also there is a difference between new sales and account servicing...

Like copier sales... if its one of the big brands, basic for junior sales person is $1.4k-1.7k, senior sales about $1.8-2.1k and senior senior sales is $2.2k, dun have 3k for most people.

Transport allowance is about $850

Commission and incentive seperate... Those that close sale never hit quota the comm can range from $400-$1500 or more, those that close sales and hit quota comm is about $2000-4000... those over achieve can take almost 10k or more in commission... incentives can range from $500-$5000 per unit...

There is another big brand, they actually pay more than the above... what you see above add $400-$600 more.... a senior senior sales person can take back more than 3k in basic...

Same industry, different brands and commission scheme.... usually they do more new sales than renewal thats why commission is so good...

Those who are agents or channel partners in copier industry they pay basic of $800-1400 before transport... Transport is $500-$700.... (abit low though looking at current transport like taxi and petrol sigh)

In general advertising companies, big ones they pay 1.7k basic for junior sales staff and up to $4000 for more experience ones... smaller advertising companies pay about $1400-$1800... transport allowance is about $1000-1500, smaller ones not too sure....

Some very small company pays about $900-1500 for sales people and no transport allowance but can claim from company.

My first job which is sales just a few years ago in a small company, but very rich company ahahahaha.... we do only new sales

basic: $2100

Transport: $1000

Hp: $150

Commission is: $1250 (on lousy months)-5000

Still got incentives....

Got promoted 5 months after confirmation, became teamleader, basic also went up by quite alot.. every month my commission alone is about $4000 on not so good months and above on good months, 6 months later promoted again to manager.... basic very very high but commission not as high as before, i think i earn alot when i was team leader... but i left the job about 3 years back... I was not a grad when i joined, only became a grad after i left my job to study hehehe

When I was doing recruiting sales people basic range from

$1400-2000 depending on experience and qualifications

This week, received 4 emails from agencies & 4 calls from them (2 of them same company but different person).

I ask 2 of them, is the company mickey mouse company or multi million sales turnover....

Both of them kanna questioned by me as if I am interviewing them...

Never work in MNC, it is really that good?

Go back to sales but to be a hunter role asking S$80K ++ to lose my dignity worth it?

they ask for really high pay???

if these kids are looking for junior role in sales that is commission based seriously dun expect too much... even 3 yrs experience dun make you very experienced... $1300-2200 very common cos commission based... even account servicing $2500-3400 is also very common cos most account servicing dun have commission due to sales peeps servicing only exisiting base of customers.... those asking for 4k and above, ask them stay at home and be a king

Actually the question is for me...

Currently ops role in telecommunications industry. I left my speciality and joined this industry as I am a failed businessman in 2010.

Drawing S$60K, 6 months of easy life already and basically doing nothing as after joining, I had created a system that had created this easy life for myself [:p] .

But just that after improving on the old system so much, I feel that I am a "leech" to the company....

And I am thinking, y let my 10 years of experience put to the waste. My old accounts handling by my close friends & I am drawing commission from him. And using the com, I invest in other smaller firms with a partner which he is consider a "legend" in the industry.

Last year income at around S$100K.

Commission: S$10K + (managed to hit 1 big project at S$30K).

ROI (Actually nothing now as S&P were just 5 months ago.... Company still losing).

If that without the big project which I had self-handled, I will draw only S$70K.

Then if I ask for $80K from this MNC which headhunt me, I will have additional income of S$10K + maybe more benefits as it is a USA MNC (now got a kid, need this benefits).

But if this year I heng heng got big projects again, my damage is only at -S$20K ~ -$40K as due to "conflicts of interest", sales must be charged to this MNC.

Then...... Maybe need to dispose shares as it is also conflict of interest = net lost unless I transfer to someone...

Regret that I insisted putting my name in that company.... Should let the contract as "words of honour" due to the nature of my partner.

cannot sleep.... woke up at 5am today, sent wife to work, in office thinking of whether to move on or not...

My previous company was 2K basic, 600 transport, 120 HP allowance + com (a percentage from the prev month's sales)

Then some a------e who was a former MP came in, became chairman and cut all the accounts exec's pay

become 1.8K basic, 600 transport, 120 HP allowance + incentive to be unlocked only after every 3 months upon hitting 3 months target

So now i jump to another job which gives me 2.7K basic, 500 Esso card and com with 13th month as well

Advertising sales. Wasnt that great, but with the com it was enough to feed the car, its costs as well as all other expenses

So u can imagine how pissed i was when they changed it to must wait 3 months for this puny incentive which u have to hit this god-forsaken and stupidly high target when we are not given the means and support to do so.

In any case, my new job is in the field of educational material publishing (corporate sales to schools and other education institutions). With the rise of kiasu parents and our demanding education system, this looks like a good field to jump into....

but now no transport allowance?? I always think my 900 (no fuel card) is below market rate.

Well the $500 Esso card kind of makes up for it, which is fine since even at my busiest my monthly petrol bill always hovered around the $400++ range (one of the advantages of driving a petrol-sipping car)

i rather take back high basic since 13th month bonus is calculated using this as well. I'll try out this new position and see where it takes me to. The accounts are already there, so i will be more of a farmer rather than a hunter. My prev job was about 80% hunting new biz which tends to be a drag at times....

received another 2 resume, both below 25, 1 o and 1 n level.

the o claims she earns 4.5k including com n a printing company.

the n claims she earns 5k basic excluding com in a trading company.

nowadays 20 plus earns so much! [;)][laugh] . my first sales job in my 20s was only 1.7k basic....... [:(]
