Blue850r Clutched February 15, 2012 Share February 15, 2012 (edited) Citizens here have to pay to support the Govt wish to maintain those giant Oil companies to stay at Jurong island. Otherwise, those Oil companies will move away to places with cheaper labour and no labour shortage. These Oil companies pay taxes and levy to Govt. So where do you guys think the money will come from? Edited February 15, 2012 by Blue850r ↡ Advertisement

Bystander50 5th Gear February 15, 2012 Share February 15, 2012 Citizens here have to pay to support the Govt wish to maintain those giant Oil companies to stay at Jurong island. Otherwise, those Oil companies will move away to places with cheaper labour and no labour shortage. These Oil companies pay taxes and levy to Govt. So where do you guys think the money will come from? You very sure they'll move away? i strongly doubt so, given the security they enjoyed here. In other countries, oil is siphoned from the pipelines. I strongly believe the cartels won't ship out of SG. Even if 1 does, another one will buy over their facilities. Look at BP, after moving out of SG, SPC took over it's stations and expanded, became the last to hold out to price increase. And now look at the revenue of BP, it had lost a slice of the revenue pie in SG.

Rncw 5th Gear February 21, 2012 Share February 21, 2012 the 3/4 fuel rule for those going to bolehland is simply unjust....consumers got the rights to choose where they want to pump....government is simply protecting the oil companies in singapore

Even the public transport companies propose to have an price increase, they also approve. But i think maybe the tax govt taking from the oil companies quite a lot, that's why they doesnt want their business to get affected.

Raygooh 1st Gear February 21, 2012 Share February 21, 2012 seldom post here but really hot when think about this.True singapore has no control over fuel price as its grobal. But anyone really ask ourself why are we paying more than other s compare to the world.? Many still dont get it! We are staying here in singapore. You tell me who decide how much tax, carpark, petrol, bus fare, taxi fare, income tax, housing price, buk chou mee , coffee price? Tell me about it. Not looking for debate here but think about it. Think about it! I rest my case.
