Geely gone.......

For the same reasons, Honda is under Kah Motor which has the Malaysian market, no ? They also have the motorcycle business. Suzuki is under InchCape, head-quartered in UK.

The decision is whether to continue to invest in our tiny Singapore domestic motoring market which now serves only middle-upper income group, making the market even smaller. Like the pulling out of many international F&B and retail giants .. Tokyu, Daimaru, soon very likely Carrefour, etc. Tesco and Jusco are both in China, Thailand, Malaysia, ...., not in Singapore. Walmart is the biggest retailers in the WORLD, open in China, don't open in Singapore ? Is it because Singaporean got no $$ ? The reason ? Only one, domestic market is too small.

Another thing to know is last time, cars are commonly shipped from Japan, Germany, .. come through port of Singapore. Now the trend is to assemble locally ... what will happen to our distributorship here ?

singapore shops charge too high.

why walmart dont want to set up here?

Geely Service Center will be relocated to Alexandra Road near Ikea. Had pay a visit to Exklusiv Auto today. Yes showroom and basement service center close down. Asked the security guard, the service crews are still there at Level 2(go up by lift at the left door).

They note down phone no if need car service but due to renovation, services only start at end of March. The receptionists guy and lady, a service guy are there for advices and booking.

actually, subaru, mitsubishi mazda nissan and toyota can survive.

subaru is under big backing(tan chong intl)

same for nissan

Mazda under trans eurokars(conti dealer)

Mitsubishi under C&C(mercedes dealer)

Toyota got lexus to back up.

first to go is either honda or suzuki

chevrolet will stay alive coz of the taxis

IMO, at best, you can say some of the resspective dealer will still survive or do well, but you cannot say whether some of the brands they carries will survive.

The rent & running cost for a dealship isn't cheap in Sunny Singapore you know.

Say C&C, they are doing well due to Merc, but what is stopping them from shutting down Mitsubishi which isn't doing well at the moment?

Not a problem getting it repair over at JB, parts are cheap there. Most of the problems like headlights and sticky interior all can be easily treated. Still cheap to keep a OPC Geely.
