why blame singaporeans when our leaders

asked if our poor wants to eat at hawker centre, kopitam or restaurant

Singaporeans should put the care of the elderly above petty concerns, says a prominent local blogger as moves to put up an elderly-care centre at a Woodlands void deck have drawn protests from residents.

Why is there only ONE proposed site?

Shouldn't it be every neighbourhood has at least one elder care center? Ppl will just see it as norm and make less of a hoo ha. Results of poor planing & management.

I think you've got a valid point here. As sgp ages, more facilities to care for the aged will be needed. This wasnt the case when the nation was younger in the past. These elderly care centres should be distributed within housing estates/precints (say every 10-20 blocks of flats should have one established) for easy access of the children of the elderly for visits etc. Many other more mutured countries are already doing this.
