funnily the MRT station is right smack at this area.

There is a Minimum Platform Level (MPL) which building owners have to comply. LTA specify this to ensure the flood water will not cross this level even it is a once a 100 years type of rainfall. So, flooding into the MRT line will be protected. In theory lah but so far so good. 😆 existing buildings no linkage to MRT, if have also has to comply lah.

I know there’s an additional step or height but this area floods like nowhere else in SG

let’s hope it won’t be breached

Entrance of King Albert Park MRT Station is at Bukit Timah Road.

It looks like Bukit Timah Road is higher than Dunearn Road.

Was all these ponding due to once in a 100 years downpour? Why orchard road no more such problem? They have fixed the once a thousand years now?

To me, it was the lack of drain maintenance and constant construction works causing the discharge of rain water issue. Also new developments being build where infrastructure not upgraded on time. Hope I am wrong.

Yes, some of their pickup is so nicely decorated I wonder how much it cost. The good thing is, if they take care of it. It can last many years. My Finance Manager buys houses, condos and have land. But yearly, her parents place need to get in and out with a boat to paddle around. They accept it.

For this lady, she is still driving a 20 yo Honda Civic. Haha
