Indeed, don’t know how those residents there survive?

Please these are ponding and happen once every 100 years type. You happen to be born in that 100 years.

That area flooded often, is between yarwood ave to binjai park. Those type of home owners don't need our worry [laugh]

Remember tutoring a cjc student staying deep in yarwood during my undergrad days. Got to walk in and out from the main road, it is low ground ; at night quite scary . But the student house has a swimming pool (!) and tuition was held in a big study.

You are wrong, most of the Super Rich are PAP's Supporter, they are very reasonable type, anyway Natural Disaster cannot Blame Gov't or MP,it is lucky Water gone in less than an Hour, you try Malaysia or Indonesia.?The Flood lasts for Weeks.

Singapore is going to Spend Multi Billions in the next 50 Years or so to cope with Rising Sea Level..Floods are unavoidable, around the World...Thailand  & Jakarta are Sinking somemore.

What you are saying is 2 different problem:

1. Flood

2. Rising Sea Level

For flood, it depends what the cause of the flood.  For Bukit Timah, i believe water cannot be distributed fast during sudden downpour.  This can be solved with a detention tank similar to Stamford Detention Tank.  To solve ponding in Bkt Timah, need to look at it from Money, Legal & Political (especially) POV.  No ez solution.

There already is a multi million dollar BT flood alleviation scheme where the water gets diverted to Ulu Pandan River, through tunnels running underground. The flood waters get stored in underground tanks at Botanic Gardens. Yesterday's deluge could not cope with the volume. However while the floods cannot be entirely prevented, it does clear quickly once the rain stops.
