Kb27 Supersonic January 31, 2012 Share January 31, 2012 Varta may be german brand, but I think what you got is not made in germany, but somewhere in china. As for the quality, who knows? China made batteries is mainly due to low cost.

Neutralsg 5th Gear January 31, 2012 Share January 31, 2012 Varta batteries are not good now, just 14 months, dead, alternator is charging well, not worth to pay extra for "German'' batteries.... I had mine for close to 3 years. Perhaps, 3 years ago, it was better manufactured or perhaps because I don't use my vehicle as frequently. Recently changed to Amaron and will have to see if it is any better as some bros/sis here experienced.

SimonTan 2nd Gear January 31, 2012 Share January 31, 2012 Nowadays most batteries are no good. Even my AA batteries in toys leak chemical so often.

Ken4555 1st Gear January 31, 2012 Share January 31, 2012 no offense to TS... we cannot judge a batt based on one persons unlucky experience with a certain brand... besides alternator charging well, the age of the car, the types of headlamp bulbs, the useage of the aircon, the ICE, the interior exterior lights, the alarm system, the added accessories which use battery power, number of times cranking the car in a day, distance travelled on average... cranking with radio and aircon on... etc... the list goes on... i have used an amaron for 3yrs on a sunny... was still ok but i decided to change it even though it was fine... next batt lasted 11months... due to a mul-function of my alarm system... then bought amaron again and got 18mths warranty from AA... SimonTan 2nd Gear January 31, 2012 Share January 31, 2012 I also think poor car battery is usually due to overdrawn electrical gadgets and bad charging alternator. I have drained my jazz car battery down due to forgot to switch off headlights on two occasions. I charged it back using my Ctek charger. And the battery is still working well, supplying 300RMS watt into my subwoofers every day driving. I think once a while car batteries should be manually charged, perhaps every month or when the lights start to flicker. The car battery can last a long time with proper charging. Motorcycle battery also need to charge monthly, if not my super4 cannot start.

Tigershark1976 Turbocharged January 31, 2012 Share January 31, 2012 my varta "blue dynamic" last less than 2 yrs. try to charge it manually but the battery is beyond hope. the battery doesnt hold the charge. Charging using tickle charger at 1AH rating for 4 days and measured more than 12.5V after charged, leave it overnight at the living room and voltage drop below 11.5V on the next day....quite disappointed for such a big brand. I went back to Amaron. a bit more expensive but proven more reliable and lasting.
5936 1st Gear January 31, 2012 Share January 31, 2012 These will wipe out even my last respect for Varta batteries. Not to mention giving it another try next time. I will not hesistate for Amaron or Hoppeckes

Huat138 2nd Gear February 1, 2012 Share February 1, 2012 What excellence service.??Free replacement.??? As my battery died within the warranty period, they did provide me with a free replacement. Because I went during office hour, the staffs have left for their lunch and the GM personally changed it for me and also do an alternator check. Really good customer service provided by them!
