Tyres keep deflating, but no signs of puncture.

Hi all,

My rear left tyre looks quite deflated last week, when I went to the kiosk to pump air, the meter indicated that the air inside was 80 kpi. I thought it was punctured but after sending to Autobacs for checking while dipping the tyre in water, they found no air bubbles.

What the guy did was to pump it to 250 kpi and told me to monitor the tyre again. After going out and coming back home, it's almost flat again!

What could have happened? Is there anywhere that I can get a reliable workshop in Ubi / Kaki Bukit area (I'll be grateful for any contact numbers provided) to help me check what's the prob?

I suspect might be the rim or something inside the tyre got prob.

I think prior to this, about a week ago, I ever while driving, brushed or mounted that tyre against a kerb and it went 'krong krong krong' quite loudly while trying to siam a lorry at a narrow bend.

Thanks for any suggestions rendered!

Did autobag check the tyre valve? Just go to any bona fide tyre shop and they should be able to find the problem.

My friend had this similar probelm. He went to workshop & found out that inside his tyre valve cap got a tiny stone. Remove the stone & is ok after that. Check yur tyre valve cap.

Since you mentioned that you hit/mounted a kerb, another possibility could be that your rim(s) that hit the kerb may have been dented from the impact. That also causes the loss of air from the tyre.

Haha! Hmmm is it a common problem to have a leak there? If need to repair the valve, what are the costs?

The cost of a tire valve is cheap. Tire shops will usually change it for free when you purchase 4 tires from them. However i think they'll charge you more if you just want to change the valve. You could call and ask a few tire shops and ask for the cost before going down.

Cost about $5.00 per tyre. They should check the rim too.

Hi all,

I just took a picture of the crack. The metal part was quite loose and I could kinda turn it round and round. I checked the other tyre's valve and their metal parts cannot be turned.

You mean, this kind of crack will allow air to leak?
